Mate have you thought about fitness instructor/ nutritionalist?
There are hundreds probably thousands of young people heading into this field, it is one of Australias boom employment and opportunity areas especially for the more 'mature' female. You see there is a huge portion of the overweight/ unfit public in the 35-50 age group screaming for a person with personality like yourself to assist in their lifestyle modification program. They really don't want the 'boot camps' or the 'no pain no gain' instruction, they are more into the understanding and gradual process, which in turn requires more sessions = $$$$.
You get to change your thinking and the thinking of others and give a lot to the community at the same time.
I have thought about this area for a few years now but have been to slack or too busy to commit, you know me, all the farkin ideas but never the time after working me ass of at work to implement them. I had a mate in the UK who weighed in at 125kg, decided to follow this route, 18 months later he was a lean 85kg working 30 hrs a week in his double garage conversion and clearing 50k GB a year. He still is going strong and loves what he does. Another mate trained as a PT instrustor in the army, came out after 10 years opened his own gym and ended up coming runner up in Pommy Gladiators!
You really will be in for a good long haul in anything you think of retraining in, this I would consider you would have your foot on a rung within 12 months. Be careful of the AIPT and such like, maybe TAFE or another institute??
The only thing I would say is watch out for them black eyes on the treadmill
See you at the club.
