I have always named my pets after little incidents after we have gotten them... usually a name will come to you once you get to know his/hers personality....

I have had a cattle dog named Burger... coz he stole a hamburger out of my hands the first night we had him
A golden retriever names Thunder coz he turned up in our back yard during a thunder storm and never left again
A rotti called Tyson coz he bite my ear on the way home in the car...

We now have a cat named Pussa Mau Mau coz we never actually found a name for him.... he gets called Mau Mau which suits coz he never shuts up.

We named her 'Zoe' . We brought her home today. She is 9 weeks old and was the runt of the litter so she is very tiny.

The runt of the litter can be the best natured most attentive and the biggest clown of them all IMO.

This is the clown Dakota..... She is a very shy pup, doesn't do much at all..... NOT........
She's my baby.....
She came from Jonno's pups litter.... She eats everything of Michaels, chases everything including Birds and eats them too, has the deepest bark, sounds like a Rottie but looks like a Lab.
