Speeding Fine

Postby Jennysc » Mon Dec 31, 2007 9:21 am

I have a friend that got caught speeding on friday (28th) after work. She noticed the fine is dated the 29th (Sat), can she fight the fine with a small error like that?

In days gone by this sort of mistake was sufficient to have the ticket cancelled. Unfortunately for your friend, the rules have been changed to take into account that the officer issuing the fine could struggle to record the correct date (make an honest mistake) without getting the speed, drivers or vehicles details wrong. Apparently if you complain they'll re-issue a corrected ticket.

Was you friend speeding? If so it's probably time to cop it sweet.

It would be more of an issue if the ticket was issued on the Thursday and dated Friday... Double Demerits... :(

Double demerits started before christmas so it wouldn't have mattered.

Thank CHRIST for that!!

oh and yeah, not much you can do about your friend, a lot of those previous loopholes have been sewn up pretty tightly now.
