Video Editing Software

Postby Plaz » Sun Apr 01, 2007 11:42 pm

hey ho happy campers!! just wondering those who edit their own videos and such, what software do you use?

I'm a complete noob at trying this but have been landed with all the video from my sisters wedding to string together. So any helpful advise would be welcomed.

Mate,
I got some Arcsoft video proggies here that are a doddle to use
I still have the 2 stroke tuners handbook to send you so PM the address and I'll get 'em in the post to you.
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

We use Avid at work, and there is even a free version - though limited in what it can do. But Premiere and Pinnacle is what most of the guys use at home.

Be warned that Avid can be fairly fussy about what hardware you run - we can't get support unless we buy an Avid certified HP workstation, I wouldn't expect the free version to be any better in that regard.

I'll second Vegas, easy to use, and relatively small for a program.

Easy to get hold of too if you know how..

the ants pantz of video software 8)

and it has one VERY NICE feature
it also burns DVDs when you have finished

and thats very important..coz a lot of other stuff..will edit
add soundtracks etc etc blah blah but you need another bit of software
to burn the bloody thing to DVD

oh
btw...I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum

and I have stopped using
Ulead Videostudio (crap) , Picture Package(very crap) as well as DVD Movie Factory (reasonable...sorta)

How much was the Platinum Smitty?

We need a second editing suite to handle our workload, some of the stuff we do is pretty basic editing - probably gonna be a while before we get our new Avid + HP + 2.5TB NS... :(

Be nice if there was something that wasn't too fussy on hardware that could do a bit...

Im not a huge fan of Vegas....... Its ok.... but not awesome.... (or perhaps I have an old version)

I used to have an awesoem piece of software that blows vegas away... or it did a few years ago... it was called something like... camtasia or something....
The world is round. It has no point.
