I nearly got cleaned up by a semi-trailer (not on a bike)

I nearly got cleaned up by a semi-trailer yesterday at 4:15pm (BNE time).
Was driving the car and it stalled and refused to start on the 2nd lane of a 2 lane road. Of all places the car chose to do this to me along Wynnum Rd (next to Balmoral Cemetry) towards the city, on a black-spot + blind spot bend, it's a 60km/h zone.

Ever experienced a semi-trailer e-braking 20m towards you at 60km/h? Followed by bright amber in the rear tyres and big cloud of burnt rubber.

It was quite a 'Fuck! I'm going to die' experience.
I don't want to die like this! I'm not on my bike!

The $4 break-down triangle road sign from Supercheapauto saved my life, I had it placed 10m behind the car. The semi-trailer saw that as he was coming around the bend and e-braked.
I believe without that sign I'll prob be having a BBQ with Satan in hell now.

He was still in uniform with his name tag, he's a Sargent. I did not write down his name or his rego.

Eventually rang a towed truck and got the car towed to the mechanic.

I think I'll get 2 more of those triangle signs and I think everyone should have at least one. It makes all the difference when you are in that kind of situation, and you never know...

The thing is, off duty coppers will often stop and help someone who's having a bit of trouble or looks like they need a hand.

It used to be the same with motorcyclists, but that seems be disappearing with the current crop of "I ride a bike cos I wanna be cool like my mates" riders.

One thing you can do with a manual car is use the starter to wind it to the kerb or off a railway crossing.

if it makes you feel any better I nearly had the same thing happen to me in a car a few years ago also but my close encounter was little bit different, as many of you would know the homebush bay exit of the M4, wel I was waitin for the light to go green and it was absolutly bucketing down, couldnt hear a thing and as some of you know you cant see a thing on the right cause trees blockin the view, well this was at midnite, the light went green and because there was no cars b hind me I took my time takin off from the lights, as I rolled a bit this semi red lights and comes flying past just missin me by cms well luckly I took my time makin a move
