Young hoon loses Dad's Porsche

A P-plater with a need for speed has had his father's Porsche impounded by police after he was nabbed doing burnouts by two off-duty officers in Melbourne's east.

The 18-year-old from Mont Albert is believed to have left tyre marks stretching 55 metres in the car park of a Safeway supermarket in Balwyn after performing burnouts and doughnuts about 8pm on Tuesday night.

Two police officers who were at the scene seized the Porsche, and the driver is expected to be charged with several offences including driving dangerously and failure to display P-plates.

The vehicle was also deemed to be unsafe and was issued with an unroadworthy certificate. Because it was the driver's first offence, the car has been impounded for 48 hours with storage and towing costs to be paid upon collection.

The 18yo P plater is the reason the burnout was only that long...

Get an experienced driver behind that wheel and see how it goes...

can't believe it...another goose

Woman busted on police doorstep

There are probably few places where you are more likely to get busted for drug use than outside a police complex.

But that didn't stop a woman lighting up a crack pipe in her car while parked in a parking space reserved for police vehicles in front of the Police Branch in South Melbourne this morning.

Branch Inspector Alan Elliot noticed the woman in a black sedan parked in front of the complex on the corner of Dodd and Grant Streets when shortly after 7am he set out for a jog before the start of his shift.

"She appeared to lighting up what looked like a crack pipe,'' he told theAge

When he approached and asked her to wind the window down, Inspector Elliott said the woman initially tried to hide the pipe, but soon realised she had been sprung.

"I said 'what is that' and she said, 'crack.' She said 'you're not really going to arrest me are you?' I said `yes, you are under arrest','' he said.
