A good Aussie as well???

Wed Mar 01, 2006 4:39 pm

This was posted on another site, by the posters mate in the US. (Apparently) But If you change the wording to read Australia, and all associated names it applies equally here as it does over there.

"Have you ever thought -- Can a devout Muslim be an American patriot and a loyal citizen? Is Muslim American really an oxymoron? Consider this:

Theologically, no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.

Religiously, no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)

Scripturally, no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).

Geographically, no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially, no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically, no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically, no, because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually, no, because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically, no, because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co - exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually, no, because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 excellent names.

Therefore after much study and deliberation....perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country.

They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish...it's still the truth. If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with the above statements, perhaps you will share this with your friends.

The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.

Pass it on Fellow Americans......The religious war is bigger than we know."

Food for thought. And no, I am not racist, just expressing an opinion is all!

Well if it bored you so much why did you bother to even comment? Or is it that you were just not able to find an intelligent thought to offer?

While I would like to have Lawsy's Money, I certainly don't aspire to being like him. As I said, it was just interesting to read and there are actually some comparisons you can draw similarites with here on OZ. Dunno if the comments are even accurate in regards to the Koran, but thought others may offer some thoughts. Once again Felix I am very sorry If I bored you, maybe you should just say nothing though, if you are unable to conjure an intelligent thought, rather than only have criticism to add!

I posted this in a motorcycle forum under a non-motorcycle related topic which I considered appropriate. I am sure If I trolled thru some of your posts Lucas, I would most probably find posts from you that are unrelated. So am not sure as to why you are making your comments either?????? I am unsure how you determined that he was commenting on the "Off Topic Discussion" Section, rather than the thread he actually replied to??????? Logic would dictate otherwise.

Hey bitches, have a look at my posts, they're all off topic. Blow it out you asses, have a big kiss and get over it. :P

I think you have some built up pressure that needs some relieving. Go pull your puds, have a smoke and shut the fark up

sounds like a lot of BS to me, someone taking a few things they have found about Islamic life & the Koran most likely out of context, the same thing could easily be done with the christian bible I expect.

if i went to live in a muslim nation, i wouldn't wear their clothes, or follow their religion.
but i'd at least learn their bloody language.

Offer me something other than rehashed, ignorant ramblings and I'll give you some intelligent comment.

While you are at it, you should mention that Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses wont pledge allegiance to this country, either, and neither will serve in the armed forces. Oh, that's right, they're God fearing Christians, so they're ok...

I've worked with muslims before, my girlfriends best friend is a (not very strict) muslim. Basically my view is that there are varying lengths at which you can adopt the "rules" of Islam. Some people like my girlfriends friend, believe in Allah, they pray regularly and partakes in Ramadan. But she doesn't really go much further than that. She has friday night drinks after work, and generally partakes in society as everyone else would. I never knew she was Islamic until my missus told me!!

A workmate i had at my last job was a real scholarly Islamic, he has studied Islam, Judaeism and christianity on a theological level. Is devout and follows all the traditions. However he has adopted a (what i feel is a correct) view that there is room for all religeons, and that one religeon should not prosper at the demise of another. He even said "they are all just different names for the one God". (i.e. God, Allah, and any other religeous title for it).

Then there are those that take the Quran as gospel and those that interpret that written within as something to use ass a jumping point to launch their own oppinion without much rational thought on where it stands in the entire scheme of things. A large part of the percieved "problem" i think is with the attitude a lot of the "stereotypical" muslims come in with. Some of these include the treatment of women (its a lot about attitude), their view of other religeons, and the attitudes they were brought up with. Loose the attitude and the shithouse haircuts, and a lot of these people are absolutely fantastic people to deal with :-D.

I've heard so many stories of anglo's (whites) getting grief, simply because they are "Aussie" which is a crock, as were all equal, be it of equal rights, or equally stupid.

sorry that turned into a rant, but what i meant to say was that as with everything, its the stupid stupid minority that f*k it up for the rest of us. Be it circulating dodgy comparisons, or being an arse and thinking your king shit above everyone else for being white/black/asian/lebanese/whatever.

[EDIT]
Basically its all about respect, of each other and of the local culture, sure have your familiar communities, but still, make social contact outside of that group, and even *shock horror* assimilate into the local culture a little. Take the amazing race game for example, the contestants are 70% so STUPID they wouldnt know how to respect the local cultures of wherever the hell it was they were in this weeks eposide.

The korea episode was a classic with the gay couple, the cabdriver didnt understand what they said, so they started talking louder, and then yelling at him, his solution was the best i could think of, drop them off at the north/south korea border
