What a GREAT weekend of footy (AFL)

Sun Sep 06, 2009 7:36 pm

Carlton lost, gone for 2009!, Collingwood lost, alas not quite gone for 2009, and that's all topped off nicely by Geelong winning, a week off, a few injured players to come back and then we get to play someone else (hopefully Collingwood) and knock them outta the finals race and onwards to the Grand Final we go.

and onwards to another loss just like last year eh Mick ??       Cats were lucky to get home over the Dogs, who outscored them in 3 quarters of footy.

Esie - that win was pretty good all things considered......and they keep an unbeaten record at home in finals......I don't think they will play as well at the G next week, but at least they knocked Carlton out of the race !!! :kuda: :kuda: :kuda:

Pies came up against a very good side today........just couldn't get any flow happening, even after a good 1st quarter where they looked like a win was entirely on the cards...... :x - well there is a reason that the Saints have been the #1 side all year, and it was painfully obvious today.

Perhaps, but better to have tried and lost than not tried at all, or in Collingwoods case, the Colliwobbles rear their head again :D

And yes, Western Bulldogs may well "should" have won, reality is, they didn't, you can win the premiership by one point, if one good quarter enables us to win the flag by one point, i'll take that any day of the week :D
