Customer service from a bank....

Thu Nov 22, 2007 2:54 pm

Well as I thought, don't hold your breath waiting for it... called THAT bank today to get a quote on insuring my car for TPP and possiblly Comp Fire theft et al, go thourgh their voice menu get to car insurance section and "We're currently experiencing a large number of calls, we'd appreciate it if you call back later, click" now I would have thought a large bank would have neugh money to either a) employ enough telephone operators or b) at least have some voice mail type service... but apparently not, making too much money for their shareholders obviously, Smitty, i'm looking at YOU cos I reckon you've got shares and not a small number either so contact YOUR bank (as a shareholder you're a partial owner fgrom my understanding) and tell em to employ more ppl

So now got quotes from RACV and AAMI, far canal, RACV is about twice the price of the AAMi quotes so reckon i'll be going down that track, probably try like Allainz or some shit and then that will do me, bank can jam it up their khyber!!

I work for a Bank and they treat their own employees that bank with them like shite, so you guys have got buckleys .

I don't work for the retail area of the Bank, so I don't deal with the public.

Yep well I can relate to the "customer service" (loosly termed) from 'that bank'...It took me 4 days to get more than the "ring back at a later time" message..I finally got through to my case manager , left a detailed message about 8 times over another 3 days before finally getting a returned phone call!!

After all the screwing around I got the insurance cheque through today (my house air con' fryed the motor) Total replacement cost $2670.00 total insurance cheque after excess $246.00 !!!!

And no they don't do bikes!!

Looks like shannons will be getting a call and my insurance with "that bank" canned real soon!!! :x

(nearly as much outlay for as little return as my ex!!!)

Well I ended up NOT insuring with the bank as I figured if that's the service I get trying to make an enquiry about their insurance hate to see how claiming would be, in the end AAMI won my usiness, they weren't so fudssed about my "safety" camera record and didn't have to prove I was rating 1.

Insuring a bike, wtf knows, Shannons seem to have a bit of an issue with peope with "safety" camera records and mines fairly extensive alas (I just don't fucking learn :( ) so maybe one of these new e-insurers..

fark, thats not even 10% of the cost, id hate to think how much that excess was.....
ill take bets that they refused to cover even 50% of the cost of the aircon repair without even taking excess into the equation.

oh and e-surance, read up on them, they only start caring if you get your walking shoes out, which i CAN put my hand up for.....

One reason im sticking with NRMA for bike & car is my excess hasn't gone up on the car, bike, or my ctp, so i am hoping like christ they never notice.

Allianz are pretty good Mick, have used them a few times.. Budget arent bad on premium, but my wife had to make a claim with them and they can go jam it up there arse as far as i am concerned, you get what you pay for, believe me..

Be careful of these E Insurers.. Some are not under the Australian Insurance Laws, or something like that, so they can do what they want ..

As for bike insurance, anyone who is interested, go with Insure My Ride.. These guys are the ducks guts.. :D

"Which Bank" maked you wait 8 F!@^&#N WEEKS for approval on what one would think was a simple loan re house improvement / maintenance (refer air con!) forcing you to drain your savings to pay contractors , then to find today (two weeks after the friggen documents were signed!!) the morons somehow lost the said documents in their internal mailing system!!! :x

... which means waiting for duplicates , re-signing , driving the 120km to submit and have countersigned and then waiting another few weeks for the funds to appear!!!

When you OWN your cars and bikes , make six figures p/a , have over 30G in appreciation in 6 months on your house ; a bloody 20G loan shouldn't be so friggen hard I would have thought!!

(ok vented that now ... feel a little better ... wish bike fairings were here so I could relieve some stress on the road!!)

I think the time has come for a switch to a building society perhaps??
