I'm Stoked!

Sun Oct 07, 2007 12:55 am

On Monday I was formally offered a graduate nursing position in the Accident and Emergency Department of Logan Hospital. I was offered one of four positions, from about 350 applicants! :supz:

I had also been verbally offered a graduate position in the A&E of Redlands Hospital, as well as a graduate position in Theatre at Greenslopes Hospital. I took Logan Hospital, as I eventually want to go into RFDS Flight Nursing, and will need to have critical care experience in A&E and ICU, as well as a midwifery cert. Redlands only has an HDU, not an ICU, so I figured I might as well do it all at the one hospital! Also, Logan Hospital will probably provide a broader learning environment, as they get trauma as well as medical.

I am stoked! I finally feel that all my hard work for 6 years, studying XXcomputer.gif and working homework.gif has paid off! qgaraduate.gif

On the bad side though, I went for a brief ride on Sunday up Mt Tamborine and back. Too much time writing assignments and working makes for a very rusty motorcycle rider! dontknow.gif

the studying wont stop especially if she needs the Crti care certificate for RFDS.

I'm inthe process of getting my crit care cert in ICU in melbourne and yeah its hard work. I fully understand the rusty rider statement, as I dont get out as often as I should either.
