Let him drown, I say!

Wed Nov 15, 2006 11:38 am

I am soooo sick of this self-indulgent f*ckwit!

FFS, if we have to waste anymore tax dollars on rescuing this idiot, I won't be impressed....

(Rant over)

Cannot agree with your more Colette

3rded...

Wanker.

With any luck he's hit Ashmore Reef and we can lock him up as an illegal immigrant.

Wed Nov 15, 2006 12:28 pm

I don't think he should be allowed to do this kind of 'adventuring'. He's obviously not responsible enough to look after himself. Treat him like a dementia patient who's wandered off - round him up, fetch him back and LOCK him in.

I think the world needs adventurers like this....... Attempts to break world records is what forces technology to be improved.......

And where do you draw the line? We stop looking for him because he is out there sailing, do we also stop looking for mountain climbers? balooniers? People who ride their mx bike in the woods unsupervised?

That said... I dont konw this guy, or his history.... Perhaps he is a complete moron...

We (i.e. Australian taxpayers) have forked out over $1million in rescue operations to save this guy twice over the past few years.

He is no adventurer imho

Atleast he is having a go?

Does anyone really think if they dont spend that milion on him it could be better spent? It would just be wasted on some other wally anyway.

I know - leave him out there to die thats a better idea much cheaper.

PLUS..... the unapologetic bastard makes dough by selling his story to the highest bidder and not once has he offerred to contribute anything to the rescue services who bail him out. This doesn't only include the Navy but all the other services involved ie volunteer coastguards, rescue choppers, our ambo's, hospitals and the rest.

After two rescues I don't see why we don't refuse him an entry visa. At least then he wouldn't bother coming near us.

Clearly we don't leave him out there to drown, noone does that and hopefully never will, but this incompetent twat has to be discouraged from endagering others lives. Fine the beejeezus out of him and stop him from doing it.

Sir Edmund Hilary is an adventurer, this bloke is just a dickhead that can't steer a boat to keep it out of trouble.

But he already had two goes. If he had half a brain he wouldn't need to be told he's a twat. If he gets into trouble a third time he should be left to drown. I'm not his mother!

and you don't see them racing up Mount Everest to rescue people - because they know the risks, and choose to go up there anyway.

Geez some ppl go to some trouble to get attention dont they.

I am basically with Stereo on this .. we as people need the opportunity to do this sort of exploring. Otherwise existence is some sort of boxed, gov controlled tourist experience.

Be surprised if he expected that someone was always gunna save his a&se and as a participant, you would have to expect that the worst outcome of this type of adventure would be death. It's not a travel insurance sort of trip.

As for the gov help and taxes etc. how much does it cost us per day to save GW.

Besides what else would the navy be doing for exercises? Something made up like sail over there and pretend theres a yacht in trouble.

Alos agree that the old codger just doesn't seem to be very good at his chosen *high risk* past time. In fact pretty bad at it by the looks, so on that count tosser.

Those without Sin can cast the first stone !!

I have been picked up several times off of the road by Ambo's & Paramedics............are you saying they should have only oicked me up off of the ground the first time ?? and then I should know better ?

I am with Jess here, you people are all so mean   This is someone's life you are talking about OK so he has TRIED twice, so if at first we don't succeed why not give up :? I mean yeah we could always send that million to anther country or invest it in more bullshit that the government do  . So his a millionaire so when his found he can pay some back
