IE8 issues ????

Postby Gosling1 » Fri Aug 28, 2009 11:15 pm

For some reason, on the CanberraRIDERS forum, the response time when typing in text boxes takes farking FOREVER - ie, I can type a line of text, it does not appear as I am typing it, then it all appears at once anywhere from 5-8 seconds later.... :x - with the mistakes.....and then re-positioning the cursor takes another 20 fucking seconds...... :x :x - and if I get to the bottom of the text box (eg using 'Quick Reply') - well the fuckin' text box scrolls UP each keystroke - so you can't actually read what you are typing !!!! Its so farked its driving me insane....

Anyone else had this problem on other sites ??? On this site - no problems. The letters appear instantly when typed as they should.....and re-positioning the cursor is also instant........so its not an ISP problem, or a computer problem from my end ??

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

cheers

if you're hell bent on continuing to use ie over firefox, try going through these steps

our IT guys removed it...IE8 that is and went back to IE7 or FF in some cases
it kept crashing both XP and Vista boxes at work

I use FF at home :kuda:

Yea we decided not to roll out IE8 at work
we use IE7 but I use Firefox
its far more secure and far more stable!

Yep I've had the same probs and also when opening another tab sometimes is just won't display the page.
Easy to roll back though, just go to add/remove programs and remove IE8.
It will just roll back to IE7
Too easy Campese :kuda:

Everything about FF just looks so much cleaner ?? Even the drop-down favourites (bookmarks) look heaps tidier...

If anyone else out there using IE8 has noticed that posting etc, has become heaps slower..............do yourselves a favour and download FF3.5.
