Madkaws ZX7R spotted!

Postby James » Fri Sep 10, 2004 2:32 pm

Hey Dave,

I saw your old ZX7R up at Mt White today. It looks to be in pretty good nick too. I spoke to Sam, the owner and he said that it was off the road for about 8 months getting repaired after a car stacked into it & him. He says he's looking to sell it now to buy a Ho....a hon......a honnn...nup, cant bring myself to say it; one of them bloody bikes with no soul.

I told him to go ride the 10.

I also told him about this place too. :D

Umm yes... It was actually the first person to join KSRC that smashed my bike. Turn 7 at Eastern Creek.. Was a good excuse for the new paint job, it was always red though...

Not bad - coming up to 80000k's and ready for a valve and shim check - so an expensive service coming up.
Yours?

Jeez, you've put a lot of kilometres on her pretty quick!

Mine's not bad, she needs a carb synchronisation, but it'll have to wait until I get some time off, and some money :?

It doesn't handle wet ground very well, and it's too heavy to pretend it's a trail bike.

I'm going to try the FZ-6 out again if the 2005 ZZR disappoints 8)

I could use a few less kg this time of year, and the inside of the fairing gets full of loose gravel

I think I managed to successfully hijack this thread anyway  ...wonder if anyone noticed...

36000 so far since I bought it (11mnths ago)
The FZ-6 doesn't look like too bad a bike, and if I'm honest I'll admit I looked at them when I was checking out an upgrade. But I'm not honest so...
What rubber are you running? I have little trouble in the wet with the BT-020's until they get low.
I have the gravel problem too, but I don't think that's unique to our bike. My street has been loose gravel since they resurfaced it 6 months ago, so as soon as I get rid of it out of the fairing it's back again.

Probably but who cares - it was well done ;)
