Was at a dyno day on saturday with the Oroads group, the little ZX250R pumped out a massive 41.09hp.
I thought that was ok, has a slip on muffler and a air filter.
It beat a cbr250rr and a cbr250r. they got 39hp and 36hp.
So go the kwaka.

That is actually quite good man. My brother's GS500 wouldn't have much more than that. It is rated at 47 at the crank.

had to re-read this thread's heading.......a couple of times.....
Well done, not many dyno operators would see a 250 lob in for a test !
also, good to see that Team Green was top of the heap.....
do they make Power Commanders for 250's ?? maybe you could squeeze 45hp out of it...

Well according to the owners manual, they put out 40hp @15,500 so your figure sounds about spot on.

not bad, not bad. seems nice and healthy.
u could try removing the air box and putting 4 little k&n filters instead. don't forget to rejet it. u should then get a bit more power.
though it might suck when it rains and the filters get soaked?

Well done with the result AJ, yours sounds like a very well looked after ZX2R, 13.9 1/4 Mile as well *I've been stalking your progress*

thats just playing with fire,he's already getting a kickass bit of performance out of it with the current setup.
I've been told by a dyno place, unless you are going to race it and tune it accordingly, DO NOT put pods on, you will loose a vicious quantity of midrange and it will be all go at the top end with not much in the middle. That would make it a much much shittier bike on the road (admittedly it would work fine on the track as your WOT from go to stop).
