Orf to Newcastle again.....

Yep have decided Newcastle is the go for my Australia Day long weekend. Visited it over New Year but due to my poor organisation I slept most of the time and basically headed straight back. The GT touring rig is nearly sorted- leaving wed night.
We will be looking for some el-cheapo accomodation (we are packing a tent this time... Mainly to keep mozzies off if we need a camp en-route.) Would like to find some caravan/cabin accomodation for nix, preferably with air-con and not too far from the best beaches in Australia... We stayed in Mayfield last time, but paid somewhere around $140 a night (!) but stayed only one night, funnily enough. Next stop was a caravan park in Maclean (NSW) where we stayed in an EXCELLENT air con cabin with cooking facilities, shower/toilet, TV etc for $70 a night- much better than the Newcastle setup at half the price- would like something similar in the castle for a couple of nights. Can anyone recommend somewhere like this? TIA! :)
Part the reason for the trip is that the wreckers in Newcastle have cheap GT550 bits. My friend and I have a GT each, both needing some work. Gonna be fun strapping a spare seat and fuel tank onto the GT for the trip home....

mate, take the seats down to the PO, and bung em back through the mail - its heaps cheaper than you would expect ( probably only $15-$20 per seat)........the tanks will be a different story.......

try some of the caravan parks around Lake Macquarie / Swansea / Belmont. They are all *fairly* close to the beaches.........
