I thought I got a good deal, like so many times. Why can't people just be honest, is it worth the few dollars more to be a buyer beware SOB?

I purchased a Corbin Seat for my 10R here's the A-holes description:

This is a corbin seat in perfect condition for the ZX10r 2004 2005 maybe 2006 check with your dealer or corbin, only used for a couple short day trips. no flaws in the seat its in perfect condition. This seat retails around $230.00 selling because i have a new touring bike, but this seat is a comfort.

Flaws the seats plate almost has a hole through it from something rubbing, but what really gets me is it has Dark BLUE piping. I have a Titanium 10, here's his picture........ I guess I was supposed to ask huh.

Bugger I bet it looks REAL PRETTY !.

I just snatched a brand new airbox for the Fzzzzzzr on Hebay. But also had a guy do a runner with $50 (Damn Yank bastage may he get a hangnail)

Any chance of having it recovered with a yellow piping to match the "Crim" John ?.

Cheers Brett

Bummer.. I had a bad experience recently too. I bought a Jacket from A place called Cycle closeouts in the states via ebay. The auction stated priority mail 4 to 6 day. 2 weeks later no jacket, sent em an e-mail and they said they don't send priority only std mail and it can take up to 3 weeks.. I asked em what I paid the ridiculous postage charge for, no reply..
3 weeks go by, no jacket, sent another e-mail to which the reply was, we sent it, it may be in customs give it another week.. Another week goes by, no jacket, sent em another e-mail, no reply, another e-mail, no reply...
Took it up with Pay pal and eventually got my $ back.. cost me about $15 in exchange rates on the transactions though....

Well I sent the guy an e-mail telling him about his dis-honest auction and that I either wanted my money back and I'll send him the seat or he can refund 1/3 the money I paid. I gave him 24 hours to respond, tomorrow I'll be leaving him some great negitive feedback, (he already left me positive feedback) then I'll go the paypal route. If he would have stated it had blue piping he would only have dudes with blue bike bidding and he wouldn't have made the money he made off me.

I already went to the store and picked up some Black sole and edge shoe dye. It looks amazingly good, but I'm sure I'll be having that rub off on my pants when I'm riding.

This is the third time in a row I've been screwed by someone on e-Bay, enough is enough the thing is you can really get a good deal on somethings not to mention hard to find items. E-Bay needs to do something about fraudulant Mo-Fo's. I got ripped off on a cell phone paid 40 dollars for a phone that wouldn't work with my network when the sellers description said it would. Pay-pal refunded 15 dollars and said too bad. I'm sick of it, you can't trust anyone anymore and I'm too trusting........

Did u read his feedbacks before u bidded?

I was caught in such situation before, item not as described.

I've realised that if it's less than US$100, it's not worth the time complaining to PayPal.
They will ask u to send the item to be assessed by an independent 3rd party and u gotta fax them the report blah blah blah...

Yeah his feedback is 100 percent from 35 people, I'll be screwing that up tomorrow. And I paid 170 dollars for the seat mailed to me, I could have gotten a brand new one for 240 mailed.

PS: If you own a 10 adding that Corbin Seat added 7 pounds.....

I bought one car manual for a couple of dollars, and bid on a bike...

The bike went crazy, I bid $1. Then someone bid $2...then $50 (against themselves) and so it went...I bid $250, and the next bid was $1500!!! Then they bid against themselves 3 more times to $2500!!!!

I complained to ebay...the offers got withdrawn - some lame excuse was offered...

Then the item passed in, and the same thing happened 2 weeks later...

I can't be bothered with ebay after that...

Bad luck unclesam, hope you get it sorted.
I'm with u felix, stuff Ebay! Anything good is a scam or the seller bids it up themselves.

yeah you have to watch out for overseas sales,a lot of them use the auto bidding cheat thing(whatever they called it)
I always try to by from Australian Importer or large shop.
Knock on wood
so far so good for me.

I've been an e-Bay member since 1999, I've had so many bad experience I should be slapped for being so guilable.
Flex I turned a guy in for doing that very same thing, (bidding stuff up). You could see in his feedback that the same person buys his stuff and then he would re-list it and sell it to him again then re-list same item and sell it to a sucker like me. The thing with e-Bay is sometimes you really do get a super deal and everything is legit, but most of the time its the old saying: If it sounds too good....... Also like getting things like Brett's Air Box for and older FZR, can't find it anywhere else but e-Bay.....
________________________________________________________________

This is what I wrote him about the seat:
You know in your picture it looked like it was a black seat, with black piping. Yeah I could have asked before I bid but you could have described it as having blue piping. I have Titanium 10R. Adding that it has blue piping and I wouldn't have bid on it. Also about it being in perfect condition and only used for a few day trips, yeah right I can find two flaws....... I'll give you 24 hours to respond then I'll be leaving you some really good negative feedback.... I can't believe this, buyer beware huh,,,, 24 hours from now I'll be filing my complaint with Pay Pal, read my feedbacks, I have gotten my money back from people that lied, like I said 24 hours, I've got your phone number. I'll make you only one deal you return 70 of my dollars or take the seat back.

Just got an e-Mail from the A-hole:

I sorry but i havnt lied in anyway, you could have asked about the piping, and when i sent it, it had no flaws, only a little dust nothing that a little corbin oil cant fix, by the way corbin recomends you to oil your seat as often as you wash your bike, sense that seat has been sitting colecting dust it may have faded a little but the oil will bring the luster right back in that seat. i garantee it will look as good as it did the the day i bought it 5 months ago, by the way it did only have a few day trips, and there was nothing wrong with the seat, so i dont realy understand what your are upset about, i think you got a steal with a very expensive seat, i am sorry if your not happy with the color but that is no reason to call me a lier because i was honest about the seat all the way, if you leave bad feedback i will also file a complaint. I suggest you purchase the oil that corbin seats require, or you re-sell it on ebay if the color wont work and maybe even make a profit with the warmer weather coming.

Here is my reply:
Yeah your buyer beware and I'll send you pictures of the flaws. There is a small rip in the leather in the back and the fiberglass plate is screwed up. Give me a couple of minutes and look at your feedback score and I'll begin the pay pal deal right after that........

And here is the Negitive feedback I left:
Negitive: Another Buyer Beware A-hole. Deceptive photo, used way more than stated. BEWARE

And this is what I wrote to Paypal:
Reason for Dispute:
Not as described
Buyer's Comments:
Item was not as described and intentionally left information out of auction had a very deceptive couple of photos. First off the Photo's show a black seat with black piping on the seat. Well the piping is Blue. Why the deceptive photo's, because only people that own that particular bike in Blue would have bid. The Seat is not in the Condition as stated, stated that he only rode with it a few times. Back plate that holds seat to bike has a rub hole started in the fiber glass and there is a small hole in the back of the seat (leather) where the seat touches the bike, another rub hole. Rub holes don't happen over a few rides as his description stated.

I don't blame you, my attention span isn't long enough to read this whinning either, I just needed to vent my furstration somewhere...

I bought a jacket for my wife on e-bay and got an absolute bargain saving around $350 of the min it was going to cost me to get an A*'s special order. And the jacket got here in 6 days including over a weekend. The guys at the store were also very very helpful and said that if it didn't fit I could exchange it, all I had to do was cover the postage.

their store is, http://stores.ebay.com/PERFORMANCE-MOTO ... 3aSTQQtZkm

Bad luck Uncle Sam, its a bugger when you get dudded.....

I have bought a couple of things from the US, and had nothing but excellent, fast service :? ....one was a dealer, the other private. Feedback is only a *guide*, I reckon there is a lot of arse-licking in feedback

Currently restricting all e-bay purchases to Oz sellers, have had no bad deals at all (knock on wood), everything has turned up as described......I think it is a *bit* of a lottery, but not having been burnt yet, I'll keep using it for bargains....

8)

ps - Pabs - that programme is called 'Sniper', I haven't got it (yet), but it only bids at the last moment.....which you can do yourself....and if you are *smart* about bidding, its not that hard to beat.....

i got shafted when i was going to bike a bike.
a bloke was selling a zx9 and it looked like it was going to go for under 7 grand.

i emailed him a couple times and got more pictures etc and had organised how i was going to transport it from victoria etc etc
then the day before the auction was going to end he pulled it.

I emailed him and asked what the go was and all he said was that it was no longer available.

i reckon he shit himself when he realised how cheap the bike was going to go for.

ive had some pretty good success with leathers out of america though.
My jacket i ordered on a thursday morning and it was at the door the following tuesday.

Like Pabs, can't honestly say i've had any bad ebay experiences yet touch wood, haiving said that, I haven't used it much either. Bought a helmet from the US of A, wool lined leather jacket here in Vic and not sure what else.
