The summernats road blitz in canberra has started!

I was coming home from a mates place and had to come along the fed hwy and the fuzz were there and stopping every vehicle entering the ACT. Breatho and Vehicle inspectors checking it all over. So if you are heading this way be warned!

Apparently the road blitz is to check for weapons as well as roadworthy's.......there was a whisper last month that the Wankernats would be cancelled due to some alleged *intelligience* about carloads of , well, westies, rocking in from , well, Westyville, and creating havoc on a scale bigger than Cronulla Beach......

we'll see.........

a mate of mine was also heading back from Goulburn this evening, he reckons there were no less than 30 squad cars and at least 1/2 dozen bike coppers all over the Federal Highway heading into ACT......

Since the trouble at summernats 9 or 10 (last year you where allowed outside of the complex) it hasnt been the same. As usually a few wrecked it for everyone.

well i aint goin this year as last year there fights evrywhere guys were just stupid,

its amazing what alcohol girls with not much on and cars can do to a guy!!!!

I used to love the 'Super Cruise' up and down Northbourne Ave, back in the 'good old days' - saw my first 440 Magnum 'Wedge' in the s/cruise (Hemi will be barring up right about now....)

now its a 'wankercruise' within the confines of the showground lucky to be 1200m ........at least the burnout comp is worth watching.....

i went down last year,
did the full girly at sumemrnats stuff, like miss sumemrnats, and once youw ere out and waling around guys were grabbing ya, and shouting stuff at you..

its lost what its all about, what ahppened to it being about the cras and what great enginering has gone into them,
teh big muscles cars are rare and its all 4 banger rice material...

i can see the same stuff at teh beach on any given sunday....

just doesnt have the same atmosphere about it sad to say

I remember that, orange (of course) black stripe with a huge wing on the back... It was there at the 85 and 86 (cough) nats when they use to have em at Easter...
I had my XU-1 entered..... Haven't been since it changed dates...

wow..i went in 98-99-00 i think it was... 9,10,11 from memory?? i was never really into it ( i was a bike boy) but went with my mates....it was pretty cool..after the 3rd yr which was CRAP in comparison, i never went back....

Yeah i have been to 1 Summernats.........way back like in 91....lots of fun if you like burnouts n boobs!!
