Passed qride today. WAY tooooo easy. Watched a dvd, went for a ride (no figure 8, slalom, counter steering etc which I thought was weird...plain old ride through town), copied answers for the written part...done. Now for the long wait till Wednesday so I can go to the DOT after work to get my piccy taken.

Congrats Wazza!

You would have been marked off for the other skills as you did them...

I think you can actually ride around now as long as you have your QRide cert with you - no?

We are going to be doing a smallish ride, and I can show you a fairly good little run if you like - helps build skills and confidence on a mostly very quiet road...

nah...cant ride until its on my licence...bugger. The certificate is worthless to me but handy to DOT. I can still ride with supervision though..

Where you going for a ride? Bonesters route?

What's bonesters route??

Thinking of a couple of short rides down to Murphys Creek and back up the range, then a longer one up through Esk and whatnot...haven't quite figured it out. Depends a bit on heat...

I would soooooooooooooooooo like to say what I think about that but that would be biting the hand that feeds me at the moment.....Not the first time I have heard a similar story....

Sorry Felix negative there...

I doubt that- Felix doesn't like my ride.... Going to go on it on monday with a policeman on a Trumpy......never ridden with him before...gotta make sure I don't clean up his Daytona with my CB400..... He doesn't seem to me to be the kinda guy who is too worried about the speed limits...

Oh, you mean that way you took me after I put my new forks in the ER? That was possibly not the best ride for me to do after getting the bike back on the road after a few weeks idle and feeling HUGELY different to the last time I rode it...

And it got dark and I had the tinted visor...eep...wont make that mistake again. Oh, and the roadworks suprise...faark!! Could be a fun day on the XJ though...assuming the roadworks are done.

I need to do a shorter ride soon to make sure everything is OK with the swingarm bearing replacement I did...should be, but I don't want to find out it isn't halfway through a 300km+ trip...

I know exactly how you feel...I was thinking the same thing when he said we were done. Only 2 others doing qride today. One chick who is going straight on a *choke* 1200cc harley and another guy who said straight up that he rides trail bikes but hasnt done so for a few years....rrriiiggghhtttt...would be interesting seeing him countersteer...he should have at least got us to do that....although i have to admit it was the only thing i wasnt looking forward to.

An old mate and I decided about the same time to get bikes. He was a dirt biker and had never ridden road before, I have an open license thought I haven't used it in 5 years. He did Q-ride and turned up on his shadow 3 days later in polyester work pants and dress shoes  He did a good u-turn round the cloths line in back but a week later he didn't seem so confident around the cloths line. I haven't seen him on the road yet but he is already dinking his 24yo son on the back. *cringe* When I told a very experienced rider I know that old mate had done the Q ride test, all he said was "deaths have gone up since that came in"
I'm nagging old mate to spend the cash on some good boots and pants but he doesn't seem to interested at the mo. I can still remember waking up with the bedsheets stuck to my weeping scabs after my first drop. Now it's Boots and Pants and Jacket and Gloves for me!!
