anyone suggest a bike machinic short course?????????????

Its wasn't too bad, the first two sessions were spent learning all about the Engine and what did what (Forgive me your getting the chick version) if you know nothing about a Crankshaft and Pistons you'll learn about them, but if you know most of this stuff you may be a little bored. The last session he worked on my friend’s bike and showed us general things like changing brake pads, and other bits and pieces.
The guy who runs it was great, full on in the Motorcycle circle and knows everything- very knowledgeable and very very helpful. He even stuck around hours after the final session to just simply have a talk and answer our questions.
It only runs for 3 sessions so you’re not going to learn everything.

Posted: Thu Dec 22, 2005 2:25 pmThey should do a couple of levels. I would be bored out of my brain learning how to change oil, brake pads, check the tyre pressures, etc.... but I'd be interested to see how to do valve clearances or change a clutch, for example.

Posted: Thu Dec 22, 2005 4:40 pmNah, just servicing. I don't give a toss about rebuilding gearboxes or engines, they can have that! I'm just after normal servicing and items that are likely to need replacing during a bike's lifetime.
