New Bike

The 6 might be on its way out; been offered a really good deal on either an 01 R1 with all mods or 03 zx9 in metalic green + cash and full set of leathers, opinions appreciated?
I know its a kawa forum so i think i know what most people are going to say but realisticly which is better value for money?
the r1 has everything mod wise and only 18thousand k also geting full set of leathers with this one and maybe some cash with mine as trade in on both bikes. zx9 is cheaper but not sure how many ks.
both very clean. thinking about zx9... going to go on comfort but still want other peoples opinions.

I think the 9 is going to be way more comfortable than the R1.

If you want some comfort the 9 is definately the pick of theses two. The first few generations of R1 one are no compromise head banger tools.
Real bravery is being afraid but doing it anyway.

Both bikes are potential wepons, but I tend to think half the fun of a bike is doing your own mods and making it "your own".

Just a thought.

And the specs for the 2003 ZX9R.

http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/kawasa ... a_2003.php

Both have 150hp!

ZX9R wins on Comfort IMO
R1 wins for balls out, bucking riding IMO

I Think you would drop some coin on the R6 if you switched Flash, but i could be wrong. As for "allroundability" the 9r has no equal unless your over 6'3 & 120kg imho.

Front looks a little SP2-ish. But it does look pretty good. For a Yamaha.

Tell them to "stuff it" keep the bike you got, if they are offering you a bloody good deal with lots of extra stuff it means they want your bike back and try to get rid of something they are having trouble selling.

You will lose $$$ by trading again.
The Sales rooms are the only people that make money!

Also you have "broken in" this bike and know how it handles, going backwards in years is never a good thing, even if its 2/3 years. The older bikes probably need work in some way or other.
And if your going to spend money on a bike its better to spend it on mods to make it go faster/sound horney or look sexier than dollars to make it go or repair a few scratches!

Looking at your posture (tall) I reckon a 1000 or 900 will better suit you? But trading in a new bike will definitely set you back one way or another ?
