Jealous!

I Rode the alps last year (not with ozalps) on S1000XR and we did 22 passes from memory.

Get the international drivers licence no matter what anyone tells you. They’re only $30 or $40. A group of us got pulled over in the Alps by Italian cops, I was the only one with the int lic so I was sent on my way while the others received a €450 fine (which took the about 40mins to write up).

Take spare undies if you do the lesser known passes as some are only around one lane wide for two way traffic. Watch out for hikers, pushys, buses and livestock too!

Try to go to a motogp race while you’re there. I went to Redbull ring. The atmosphere (smoke flares & air horns) in Europe at these events is awesome. I also rode Mugello, Sachsenring and Portimao on the same trip and jammed all the above in to 3&1/2 weeks off work.

As I said, I’m jealous. You’ll have a ball man.

Thanks Smiffy for passing down your experience, shall definitely get the international licence. I also booked the XR initially, however got bumped off from it and was given the bike in question..... :D

No idea. I have no clue about the road going bikes that are out there, only the race bikes and I wouldn’t have survived some of those passes on a ZX10R.

Yep, last year with my wife Joy and another couple done a river cruise plus European tour over 3.5 weeks by car, and the last leg was in the black forest in Germany where I used to go down the road at where we were staying and drool as the locals were out for a squirt without any concern about a hiding cop with a speed gun wanting to raise revenue or as we know it "save lives" .

very much looking forward to it.... 8)
