pilot jets - did you pull them out, clean them then blow out with compressed air ? If the bike fires up with aerostart - then its not timing its fuel.

Have a couple of them in the shed, one was a goer and had a short ride before it went into storage, good bike and I felt very comfortable riding it.

they are a really good little bike for their age. The motor is basically just the GPz550 motor, bored out to 600 - with water-cooled barrels and head. I have not swapped gearboxes between a 550 and a 600 (yet

) - but according to some sites - the bottom-ends are essentially identical ? It has always been something I want to try - fitting the GPz550 gearbox (6-speed) into z650 cases.......just to see what a 6-speed z650 would be like. If I could ever get my hands on a shitter 550 motor.................

Got a shitter 550 motor if you are ever up this way. Wonder if you could get the engine to fit a GT550?

For brushes in my GN250 starters I went to Ashdown Ingram and bought slightly bigger than what was required, and ground them down (in a second or so) with my angle grinder. Around $6 a pair IIRC.

Maybe $8

If you want to do a parts interchange check go to Partzilla.com - type in the part number and it will tell you all the models it came on. The number of times I have been told that the part was NLA for my bike but then asked for same part on a different bike - yes we have those........ The art of parts is sadly dying.
Also if you want to see if it is still available from Kawasaki go to Cradley Kawasaki site - if you type the number in and it come up as available 9 times out of 10 the local Kawasaki dealer will also have it or can source it - yes if its coming from Japan though 3 weeks usually.
