Female Motorcycle Racer FX300 Ninja Cup

Postby Jkracing » Mon Mar 09, 2015 2:28 pm

Hello, my name is Julie Klinker, I am a 22year old female who has discovered the arts and passion for motorcycle riding and racing.
I began road riding in early 2013 on a Vt250 Spada, to which I had ridden 12 months only.
In 2014 I became the newest member of Team Kelen Kawasaki Racing, racing a brand new Kawasaki 300 in the FX 300 Ninja Cup, which formed part of the Australasian Superbike Championship.
The FX300 Ninja Cup will compete at all seven rounds of the 2015 Australasian Superbike Championship in its own standalone nationally televised races. The rounds are held in states such as Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. This series is broadcast on TV, SBS network on their Speedweek programme. Each race event (7) has expenses for event entry, tyres, fuel and all other consumable items on top of a yearly cost for a motorcycle racing license, insurances and all accommodation and travel expenses. Alongside this are costs for practice sessions which are held regularly at a minimum cost of $179.
Many of the riders in the class have many years of experience on the track, some racing for almost 20 years and been on a bike since they were just a child. Myself on the other hand, only had 5 days on the track before my first race.

I had never seen a race track before, never been to watch a race and definitely never thought I would be racing on one.
As a late entrant to the series, it was very nerve racking for myself and my team to enter into Round 3 held at QLD, 2 months after first seeing a race track. It was definitely a big gamble, but a gamble that paid off. The year had many ups and downs, many financial struggles, disappointments and success but the team pulled off a very successful year.
In just a short period of time, I have definitely made big improvements and hope to one day take my racing career to a higher level. You can view this improvement from the picture below

Team Kelen Kawasaki consists of Team Manager, Mark Watson, Electronics technician Grant Mcguire, Mechanic and Photographer Gavin Messenger, and Team Riders Ben White and Damien Sutton. As a rider of Team Kelen Kawasaki, I was proudly sponsored by Kelen Kawasaki in Penrith, A. Noble Pest control, Spray fever, Ricondi Leathers, White’s Racing Products, Minto Mirage, Dream Capture Images, Fast lens Photography, Shell Advance and Pizza Inn- Minto.

With only having had 3 race meetings, I was one of 6 Female riders in the competition and placed 2nd in the Yamaha YMF Loan Round 6 on the Saturday and 3rd in overall placing. I also received 3rd in the Swan Insurance Championship on the Sunday and 3rd in the overall placing for the series. Leaving Four podium finishes in my first ever rookie year of racing.

Being one of 9 female racers leading up to this year’s series in a sport that is majorly undertaken by men, it will be highly looked upon for a female to be racing motorbikes and coverage will be substantial. My aim of this racing is to promote women in sport and in particular to show that anything is possible, no matter how big your dreams may seem. My dream is to get on the racetrack and develop my racing career but I need your help!

Feel free to check out my racing page named as Julie Klinker Racing. If you would like to sponsor, please contact me via email jklinker92@hotmail.com
Thanks Guys!
