Race shift conversion

Postby HemiDuty » Fri Jun 24, 2005 9:22 am

Well, I just converted the 7 to race shift and let me tell you, it is soooo much quicker to upshift! A lot more positive too, I think missed gears will hopefully be a thing of the past. Will put up a pic when we can do such a thing again. Just gotta remember which way they go now lol. Already stuffed it once on my round the block 'testing' ride. 2nd back to 1st at full throttle = not good. Many revs.

But it is a great mod, and costs $0. I would recommend it for street bikes too. It is a bit of a muck-around to get it right, including (after much scratching of head) a couple of washers under the rear-set mounts. If anyone wants to do this to a 7 or something similar and needs help, let me know.

hhhhmmmmm, got me thinking....... i just don't think i'd be able to adapt?! It is pure instint now to "pull up" when bouncing off the rev limiter..... I'd totally fuck it up and go down a gear on accident!!!
but.....
i'd love to try it, as how many times outta righties do you need the next gear and pulling up is outta the question (until you're back upright, cuz you're on your tippy toes)..... just smacking it down would be cool, but i don't think i'm game.... while i'm really focussing on it, i bet i could do it, but then in an emergency or something, i bet i'd (as stated before) FARCK IT UP!!!! lock up the rear and be a mess!!!

let us know how you go adapting hemi!
