Posted: Fri Jun 24, 2005 10:16 amYup that is the old GPZ500R that we used to have in the eighties- still sold in the US. You reckon that is old? In the UK you can still buy a GT550 new! (or at least you could when I was in the UK in 2002)

as well as the GT550
the GPZ500r is STILL on sale in the UK
both are being discontinued there at the end of the year

They make 'new' GPX250's every year too and I don't see any of you complaining about those. This is just a more practical GPX250 and if you think about it it really isn't any newer than a 'new' GPX250.
If it was out here and a LAM I probably would've considered it while learning.

Good comparison, except the Kwakka has water-cooling. It's basically a 3/4 faired ER-5 with a rear disc.

Afterwards they upped it to a 500 and made the LTD500, then they got the motor, tweaked it, whacked it into a sporty frame and made the ninja 500 which has been going since the early 90's at the very least.
