Any sympathy for this twat? (from another forum)

So I'm on the freeway June 12, with about 30 other bikes. We started riding about 8pm and it was now approching 1am. I was about the 3rd bike up front and decided (like a dumb a$$) to do a wheelie. So the front wheel is up, I'm at the bp and the only reason I'd set this bike down for is because I would get tired. I'm about 2500ft. into the wheelie and BAM! I must have hit a dip in the road...roll back on the throttle and forget all about the back brake, and land on my a$$ at about upper 90mph. Slide on my a$$ for about 50yds. while watching my brand new 636 with 1700 miles on it do gymnastics down the highway. Start to tumble and roll, and flip, and finally come to a stop. I get up with no concern for myself, run to my bike and find it mangled, humpty freakin dumpty. Pick it up and have my friend get his truck to remove it from the road.
HERES THE DAMAGE.....

Smashed in tank, twisted sub frame, cracked front fairing, missing master cylinder, no turn signals, grinded down fork crown, grinded out wind screen, smashed in exhaust, and my feeling hurt really, really bad.
ME.....

Second degree burn on my right a$$ cheek. SAFETY GEAR RULES!

WHATS TO COME.....

Already have my bike in the shop (friends home business). Flush mounts, sport-tech blue chrome windscreen, re paint factory blue with pearl clear (ALL FAIRINGS), full micron exhaust (he's a micron dealer), power commander, tail light inergrator, ajustable rear sets, new rims w/ center being paint to match, and I think thats it.
Pictures of before and after will be posted in about two weeks.

Take it easy guys and gals, please be safe, and if you do fall off the horse......suck it up, get back on and fall off better next time.

Well bugger me it survived by the sounds of it I thought 90mph would bend it like a banana, supose it has to slam into something for that to happen. :o

They call it stunting cause if you stuff up you will fall off but hey each to there own.

Guy goes for long-distance wheelie on the freeway while wearing protective gear and riding at the front of the pack, stuffs it up and inflicts damage to nothing but himself and his own bike...

...I don't get it; what's the big deal?

What he did to himself? No big deal.

fair suck of the old celebrity guys..it was 1am...
and if u think hes a tosser, wanker etc..then think back abt 18 months & ull start hating me again, cos my story is EXACTLY the same..in fact insert cbr929 where he had 636 and im sure he stole that story off the old yahoo ksrc forum??

if he was out in front of the other bikes, at 1am with not many ppl around, the only person he hurt was himself...geez sum of u guys need to take the carrot/watermelon/other object out of ur ass & chill a little bit...

oh and im sooo sick of hearing "what if"'s...he DIDNT hurt ne1 else, and thats probably cos he didnt endanger ne1 whilst being a twat....

nicely put Narfie.... "but what if..."

hahahaha, lol.....

I reckon the guy is embellishing, or atleast exaggerrating the story a bit... c'mon everyone loves a story, and if it went down the way he says, i don't care if it was your brand spankin new MV... you ain't "running" after shit! Even if you were wearing all your kangaroo leather gear and your mates two-piece and his brothers single piece race suit... BULLSHIT! i reckon he prolly binned it down his quite sub-division street when he couldn't negotiate the coulde-sac u-turn... cuz how the hell does one 'repair' a bike after it does gymnastics down a freeway?!?!
i don't know... nice story i guess.....
stupid yank

oh and i lost a lot of skin off my legs, and a lot of leather off my jacket...i was pretty ok tho..

Yeah it doesn't seem to be anything too crazy. Basically, if someone is doing wheelies in front of me I just give them lotsa room and think "go for it", whilst remaining ready for the possibility of a stack. I don't think it is a hell of a lot different than following other bikes through the hills, as long as you leave enough room and stay alert and ready you should be cool if the rider in front stuffs it.

hey dont get me wrong wheelieing can get addictive, I reckon i will do one every time i come out of turn 4 at darlington on the weekend down the hill :D .

But there is a time and a place for this, I know a lot of guys that do it up and down a straight bit of road at the turn around point on one of our rides...fair enough the line up and when the next bike is gone they have a go...hell i even had a go on me cbr250 once but it was going to end in tears and clutch destruction so i gave it away.

outside the local girls school at 3pm is not the right place.

Like I said, I don't give a shit about the wheelies he did or the fact that he fell off doing it. I don't have anything against people stunting in the right place at the right time.
What shits me, and would have pissed me off if I was there, was that he did it in the front of a group ride of 30 other riders. It doesn't matter what time of the day it was, there were by his description 27 other people following who could have been piling into the back of his little mistake.
If they were all cool with him doing it and left a lot of room for him then fine, but if someone was doing that on a group ride I was on without any warning they wouldn't get invited along next time...or they wouldn't invite me again, whatever
Dont like "what if's"? Don't bother wearing any protective gear then cause falling off is only a "what if?", some dickhead in a car running into you is only a "what if", hitting a patch of gravel at full lean through a blind corner is only a "what if?", every single one of those wonderful videos we can download of stunters running into other stunters cause they fucked up is only a "what if?"
You think I need to chill out and pull whatever out of my arse? Mate, I ride a 10, there's no fuckin way you can ride on of these things without doing silly stuff, it practically begs you to do it and kicks you in the nuts if you don't do it to it's satisfaction...I just try not to endanger anyone else while I'm doing it, what's so wrong about that?
