Here's some real world numbers on the latest and greatest 1000 I4's.

Typical of the Europeans, the MV made more HP on the dyno (with exhaust though) than what they claimed. Their porky pies aren't as big as the Japanese ones. (I've seen a few Ducati tests where they make more on the dyno compared to what they claim).

Yeah nice. Thanks man.

So are these Front Ends on the Crim as "nervous" as they make them out to be?

Was talking to a manager of a Yam dealership last week. He says that when they launched the 05 R1 they were invited to a demo at Phillip Island. The bike was clocked on the main straight bouncing off the rev limiter at 200kph - and that was just first gear

i reckon if you are looking at any of these "weapons" for street use..... there must be NOTHING in it! seriously. how the hell would you ever be able to "see" the difference on the street??
could you?
i really don't know, as i've only ever test rode an older R1 and an older 954 blade.....
but mere mortals surely just pick your fav looking one????
p.s. nice "sketched" signature decoy!

i was thinking the same thing yankee, when you look at the power wars graph, imagine if that was a real graph and showed the whole PS line, not just a clip of the difference, pretty close.

P.S. thanks, it was a part of a camera phone pic so needed a bit of filtering to hide the pixels ;)

I agree I think rider reaction time and ability would be the biggest difference in these bikes.

They needed a racetrack to fully appreciate the new colours?
(apart from paint and graphics, the '05 R1 is carried over unchanged from last year)

This is why I no longer engage in chit-chat with bikeshop staff...
