They'd better ban transformers 2 before I see it next weekend in case it influences me to build a bunch of living evil gigantic robots to destroy the planet

FFS on a single complaint? I'd suggest "screw loose scrooby" of the pedestrian council has something to do with it.

Fair enough I say. Not what we want to see on TV, certainly not what I want my young children to be seeing.

Clearly we should not be encouraging people to take up art, it is gay and should be banned. :P

Actually, that one was complained about, but the complaint was dismissed (which may have been Micks point), the complaint was:
"I find the ad disturbing and offensive in its treatment of women and animals.
The women are catapulted into the sky, presumed as an offering to the Gods! Sacrifice to the
Gods? It is violent and misogynist."

The response (in part):
The underlying theme is that Tooheys New is a very special brew; a gift from the gods.
…we do not believe the reasonable person actually believes they can make it rain beer, let alone
make it rain beer by catapulting beer ingredients into the clouds Thus for the majority of the
community, the advertisement is purely fictional.

No shit

Painting with a car banned because it encourages "hoons", mmmm.
This is deemed inappropriate yet:
McDonalds don't encourage obesity.
Political parties don't encourage deception.
APIA doesn't encourage the elderly to drive :)
It is so sad that people feel the need to complain about such petty things. This may be indicative of how interesting their lives are.
Perhaps the ABA should publish the name and addresses of all people who complain. What's wrong with accountablility?
King Nicholas. Keeping it unreal.

So people, as I have just done, get on their website and complain that the ad has been banned!

Don't be a silent voice.

What a load of rubbish it is to ban an ad like this from BMW being aired on Television.

I have to sit through countless scantily clad young women telling me I can watch them strip on my mobile phone, how their feminine hygiene products work, or how I can have sex for longer, yet a car, in a closed warehouse, creating artwork is unacceptable for me to watch. I am allowed to watch racing cars, rally cars and drift competitions on my television, but this ad is deemed to be negatively influential to my behaviour.

Where does the Australian advertising Standards get their standards from?

What a clear waste of time this process is. I hope you are not funded by my tax dollars!
