not good mate.

its normally ur recorded speed -3km/h is how they determine ur final speed.

i can only guess u were in the car cos i know u'r bike would fall over if u were going that slow.

No, it was on the bike .......that's why I can't understand it :?
The only thing I can think of around 17th December was it was raining and the lights turned to red as I got to the line and I gunned it across cos I knew I wouldn't be able to stop safely on the shitty road surface.
Farkin speeds I go at, it's embarrassing to be done so close to the limit

Hey Rossi,
Where did you get done. Was it one of the new combined speed / red light cameras. I'd get the photo ..... you never know, a mate in work who drives a Camry wagon got his photo and found it was a Falcon wagon with a similar number. :? This was after he swore at all the kids and banned them from driving after they told him they had never been in that area. Boy was he

Sorry to hear mate. Glad i didn't tell you which way to go home, last time i did that, Mario got pinged.
As Jas said, request the photo. If your not the only one in it, fight it. If you are, burn it. Because you should be ashamed.

Ohhh, now, don't think you can get around me like that. He's not coming out, and that's my final word. Now, shove off!

The plates are checked via a computer using OCR software, and it's bound to make mistakes from time to time. After the computer identifies the best match, they are checked by a real live person.

But, if you were sitting there for 8 hours a day checking number plates, you'd be clicking "Yes, Correct, Next..... " for every one whilst reading your Woman's Day to!

Neka,
The guys who man the car based speed cameras in Vic look at each photo after its been taken to establish if it is a good one (can stand up in court) and whether there is more than 1 vehicle in the pic. If there is more than 1 then they trash it (similar to a digital camera). I thought that this was because it was inconclusive evidence as to who was speeding.

Could you not have argued that only one bike was speeding and happened to pass the camera at the same time as the others were legitimately in the piccie?

It's not quite that easy. Some cameras can determine which vehicle is speeding. If they can't, they can work out which vehicle was speeding by using some tricky maths. This all takes time and costs money, so often they don't bother.

Othertimes, you may try and get out of a speeding fine based on the above, but the Police will just say "Yeah, we hear you, but let's just go to court and see what the court says."
