hmm ..me ..i wash it once with a sponge..then i wash it a secnd time with a toothbrush (all over) using a decent car wash....
then i use another clean toothbrush and "shift it" this shit my dad use to get from his mechanic...scrub bugs & stuff off it...i then degrease any excessive build up areas, hose down, chamois dry, polish all metal ,armour all all plastics of mirrors etc, windex on mirrors/glass (light, tacho), meguiars the fairings (jase put me on to that shit, its choice), lube the chain...then take it out & crash it...
i have been told NOT to use MR SHEEN as the silicon in it fuks the paint tho...

no offense taken, each 2 there own, now if u dont mind i'll just slink back into the quiet corner of the forum

HAHA JUST KIDDIN!

As 4 the cranky mrs, no mines not that cranky, yes u still could have a girl friend, but the fact u havent makes MR a very lucky man. as 4 the geri i've been cleanin' my bikes like this 4 years & never had a problem, having said that i fully agree that they can fuck up electrics & all sorts of shit, but so can a hose. it all comes back to being carefull. i wont gerni the motor or shit like that 4 that reason, mainly wheels & things, remember tht if u were riding in the rain, the force of the water flyin off say ur rear tyre is not that much different 2 a gerni. and 2 all u novices out there B CAREFULL, whether it b a hose, a sponge, a gerni, or just a bucket of water , these all have the potential 2 do alot of damage if used incorrectly or shoved down the wrong place. as 4 ur z marilyn i might b uy it 4 the mrs as a new dinin' table, it certanly sounds like u could eat off the thing. GOOD 2 SEE ,as we all kno there r alot of doh heads out there that don't deserve 2 own bikes
keep on cleanin' all
cheers

Hmmm . . . thinking about it, the Mr might like me to have a girlfriend . . .

The horse is a girl - does that count? Probably a good thing she is a girl too - you don't want to know how boy horses are cleaned!

I just wipe mine down with Mr Sheen every once in a while.
Toothbrush comes out for the chain every couple once in a while's.
It's always dirty again the day after I wash it.

First off I use wd40 to get rid of road tar spots and the chain grease off the wheel, then me best buy- a wash-mitt type thing, great for getting into all the 9's nooks and crannies. I wet the bike all over, then wash it with car shampoo, chamois it off. Leave it to dry for a while then finish off all the chrome bits with Solvol Autosol.
Then I jump on and go and get it all dirty
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

Oates Car Cleaning Mitt (Outside Mitt) Like enjo
Spray down, Oates Chammy to dry.

Polish after a second Chammy down to get any of the drips that crawl out of some areas..

WD40 is also used for wheels and swing arm cleaning to get all the junk off it
