I have heard so many tossers talk about how fast/great/fantastic they are, but trap times don't lie, 60ft times don't lie, and dyno charts are a good indication .... :D

I guess you can cover it with the racer's credo.......When the Green Flag Drops, the Bullshit Stops....

My misses with the stop watch is more acurate than most Dyno sheets.. :-)... (dyno charts a good indication... hahaha..)

I'm happy to back up any of my "claimed" times by doing a few laps with anyone who may doubt em..... :-)
Enough ppl have ridden with and timed me at the creek so they know, its those that don't get out there that you can't be sure of....

BTW, Lap timers are now banned at E.C. and P.I. on track days...

Champions have the same policy here, but I used mine anyway. Since then they have sent out a new rule sheet with that and more crappy rules on it, yet to test em out though.

How strict are they down there about it? I mean surely you could get away with someone discreetly holding a transmitter beacon at the pitwall?

Back on topic, the best road tyre I have tested was the Pirrelli Diablos on my old 7. They were great. The rear lacked a little in the outright grip dept, but when it did spin up it was quite predictable, and the front was great. They warmed quickly, and wear was within the normal range for tyres in the class.

While on the subject of tyres, I have Michelin TX15 and TX25's on the Hornet. They come as standard fitment. I mentioned that I have had these on another bike a loooooooooooong time ago. I was a little tentative on the first ride with them, as I hadn't ridden on them for so long, and also suspected they may be of a different construction or compound.

Well construction must be sim to the TX15/25 's of old, but certainly the compound is different. On the FZR600 E, I would get 1200klms out of a rear in hot weather. I have already done that, and it looks at this stage as though 4-5000klms will be a potential. So wear is def acceptable too.

The grip offered has so far been faultless, however I don't mind admitting that as yet I have not pushed it very far. The first ride was alone and running in the engine, the second ride was mostly wet, and the third ride was again alone so didn't feel comfortable to go too fast. Having said that, I have pushed it a little thru the Christmas hills and down into Warrandyte, and it appeared to be Quite OK although I havn't yet got it to let go, so not sure how it works when things get ugly.
