BTW tyre choice IS subjective :P

also I ran 34/36 in my 014's

They need to be run a little lower than that to make them work proper. And yeah yeah yeah, I know Kawasaki reccommend some god awful pressures like 36/42 but I would only ever get close to that even if it was 40degrees and I was two up with panniers top box tank bag and back packs loaded.

30/32 for winter, 32/34 summer 33/38 if it's 40+ or pillion on board.

i'll thro my .02 worth in and put a vote for metzler sportec m1's. they have a rounded profile that means a nice even tip in, not the from upright to full lean some of the more "triangulated" tyres do. 8)

and tyre (and pressure) is TOTALLY subjective.........IMHO.

gotta agree with brett tho, they dont make bad tyres these days - you've just gotta find one YOU like

u bunch of whinging arguing queers....
its a matter of choice really..
quickchick- i have run dunny 208's (wish i had flushed em), bridgy 012's (not bad..in fact i liked em heaps)..and powers (currently- so far my favourite)....tho i still went shit loads quicker at mallala on the old pilot sports....

personally i dont like the idea of race tyres on the road...since they take longer to warm up etc....i love the fact the powers are grippy when cold, and in the wet...
everyone has their own opinion..its just that MINE is correct...

To be totally fair to the testers if the bike gets changed between tyre types then you are not comparing apples with apples.
But then I am no tyre expert, I just use them.

Hey fred/neil/fab you have to remeber that quick chick is probably less then 70 kg and probably less than 60kg and riding a 6r in the sydney winter not too far away so a set of powers would be perfect i would think but probabaly not the go for a 12r or simaler with a lard ass pluss luggage. :D

Read that tyre test some time ago wasnt it done at a test track in france, was it done on hi grip ashfault or normal road style hotmix?? like chalk and cheese realy i prefer to try them out on the road and on the track.

wasnt fussed on the 014/020 mix for mountain carving but they got me from brissy to melbourne and back no sweat the front is still new and it took me 20 mins to get the rear too warm up in the snowies but may be very effective on a nine.

got to use a little commonsence here.

And i am waiting for greenmeanies shinko test report....needs pics!!

Are when we gunna have a witch burning i miss the old ways.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

I tell you this much.......

when AAHHH were a lad, ya couldnae beat the Pirelli Phantoms (Silver dot, they had to have a silver dot or they weer joost shite laddie...)

QuickChick - when you have a talk to your local tye fitter, I am sure he will recommend an appropriate tyre for your needs - listen to him mate

it would be great to get your feedback on whatever tyres he recommends as well.........once you have got some miles up on them........

:D

I may even try a set of those Shinko's this year. Just to see if they are any good. At some rediculous price of like $300 a set they have to be worth a look???? :?
