Really? I figured it'd be expensive to service - are the parts that will get hit in a crash very $$$ too?

Oh well - if I can afford a Ducati I could probably find an SV650 for the same dollars I guess.

Guy on another forum got hit over $700 for a starter motor. And then he needed a relay - $80. Yup, I'd say parts are expensive...

Yikes! Well, forget about that idea.

After doing some sums today (insurance, budget etc.) I think I'm going to have to go with an ER-5 or GS500, unless an SV pops up at an impossibly good price. Might upgrade for a Z750 or something in a year or two!

Bike hunting next Saturday :).

Slap yourself for even thinking of a ducati. Congrats on your Q ride cert. Sounds like a much more practical scheme then the NSW L's course.

Grab the lastest AMCN there's a good quick fang style write up on the ER5.

Well done Danny Boy. Now you have a ticket to REALLY start learning what it's all about. Well done mate, stay safe and enjoy what you have. Maybe when you are a bit more confident we can tee up a ride on here for you. hello2.gif
