Be amazed, but on the trip home tonight from Canberra i had 3/4 of people moving over for me to get past when i was going faster than them. I was actually very surprised. I didn't need to prompt them either. ok, so one or two i had to under-take after sitting on their tail oblovious to them for 3-4 minutes.

Canberra drivers are IMHO quite possibly the worst in the country. Not only do you have the normal tossers, but add a heap of diplomatic plates and damn the things they do when they know they dont have to pay the fine!

I was ran off the road the other day on the way to work (whilst in my car!) by a crazy shazza looking chick, more concerned with her 80's hairstyle than watching where she was going! I was overtaking her as she was scooting along 10-15 km below the speed limit. Then when my passenger door is level with hers, she just starts meandering into my lane, so i move away a bit, thinking, the moron will stop, I sound my horn and the dumbass kept coming! I ended up on the shoulder before she realised what the hell was going on. If i didn't have an AWD (05 Liberty) I am sure i would have been rooted! in the end i just dropped it back another gear and got the hell outta there! Whilst spraying the hell out of her car with rocks!

Canberra is also the home to the constant tailgater! Although I find if you use the windscreen washers in the liberty, then there is sufficient spray to coat the offending car in water and crap from your car. It is amazing the amount of ppl that will immediately cease the tailgating when this occurs!

If on the bike i just try to ensure I am in front of these crazy deathwished drivers!

...as for the tailgating, maybe I could attach a spray bottle and nozzle to the back of the bike...it'd have to be a big bottle though cause I'd use it heaps

I used to commute through and was (briefly) a bike courier in Sydney. I *LOVE* Canberra traffic. I *LOVE* Canberra drivers.

I get involved in less road rage now that I use my Sydney Survival Rules......
- Ride faster then the traffic
- If a dickhead is tailgaiting, get way by speeding up, splitting lanes, slowing down.
- I don't give them the finger (or horn unless absolutely necessary) I just shake my head or flash the high beam.

I noticed I get zero abuse now that my heavy bike lock is sitting on my pillion seat and drivers can't see my face through the mirrored visor.
