I'm going for my P's next month, I know the U turn on the ZZR250 sucks (I'm getting better at it), but what is the cone weave like on it?

The cone weave is better when you hire out their CB250!!! the turns are possible on the zzr250, but there's always the risk of being a bit *close* to the limits of the bikes turning circle and you hitting a cone or worse, dropping the bike. If you had a zxr250 i'd say dont even think of using your own bike for that reason alone.

I passed the coneweave first go in the test, but then again they DO give you an rundown & practice of what they expect for a good 3-4 hours, and will help you out if your having trouble, at least during the practice session.

Good luck with it too b.t.w.

Krusty,
I did mine on a GPX250, just grab the info from the RTA web site, download the PDF's, grab some chalk, a tape measure and some cones from BigW $10,00 for four, so get two packs and find a nice quite street or carpark......we used some carparks at olympic park. Just be nice to security and let them know what you are doing and they should be fine.

BTW, my mate can do the cone weave on his Eliminator but could not do the U turn, so i think you should be fine on the ZZR250

The test for the last four weeks has been done in a new format.

Classroom time
1hr 15 Minutes Demonstration and practice of complete test format
15 Minutes Break
15 Minutes practicing again, this time with Hard stop ( i kept doing stoppies and getting hammered for it)
Test commences for next hour
Classroom time
Lunch Break
Classroom time
Cornering and reving down session
1 1/2 hr Ride around area looking for danger points
Classroom time
Certificate time
Home

If you don't know how to counter steer, learn now, it is the easiest way to do the swerve as your ass stays still and the bike swerves around the obstacle.

For those who don't know.....If you want to go right, push forward on the right handlebar and then just lean with the bike, same goes for the left, It feels wierd the first few times you do it but when you start to do it all the time it will give you much more control in corners.
