Seeing as I have nothing to do but sit here with a sore arse, I'll try and put the record straight.

On arrival and after pitching the tent, Rossi and I went to the guy and paid for four nights for 5, 6, 7 and 7 people. This was the amount of people that stayed.

On a personal note I was in bed before 10pm each night and arose at 5.30am each morning to share classical music with the guy two sites up.

There was some loud, bad language on the Sat night and 'classical guy' came over and asked for it to be curtailed because he had two young daughters with him. (Had some balls I thought).

The site was spotless when we left and no complaints from the operator.

Maybe Flash and Smek should have paid extra because they slept (?) in all sorts of places.

If our behaviour has given KSRC or Dave a bad rep, I sincerely apologise for us all.

When i originally rang to book a site at the caravan park, he started taking down my details, asked how many people, etc, when i told him at the time it would be 8 of us (we were going tohave a extra) and he started to go a bit funny, then asked me how many cars we were going to have, and said there would be probably 3 cars. at that time, he told me rudely and promptly to look somewhere else, told me to go to cowes caravan park.

because they'd be more appropriate for a large group, now dont get me wrong. He may of banned us because he doesnt want large groups of blokes drinking piss, but he didnt know who i was, i haddent meantioned ksrc, and as soon as he knew there was 8 of us, and 3 cars, he changed completely and basically told me to fuck off.

It was only until someone else rang up and booked the site, that it was ok.

Yeah, the facilities are great, location is fantastic, but if they dont want what I wouldnt have considered a fairly moderated blokes weekend away. so be it, we'll find somewhere else. At no time did we trash anything, we were polite to everyone at the bbq area, and anyone who walked past. we only recieved the one complaint on the last night from the bloke two sites up and that was it.

We werent up late everynite, we had a few drinks and laughs everynight, and that was it.

I dont quite understand why we would have been banned. but, by the sounds of it we have. and to dave for giving him a bad name for raising a group full of alco's and people that swear like storm troupers and dont pay. I apologise. But we werent as bad as the guy probably made it sound.

Jase would probably know better as he wasnt drinking and he's a copper!

All of us that went to the supers had a great time, and I dont think we should have to take away our ability to have a great time to go to bed when it gets dark, and not carry on a little bit.

I'm sure there will be a caravan park that is family friendly but at the same time will take groups of people with just as good facilities somewhere in pi. This is turning out to be quite the long post so ill stop now

You would have thought that for a caravan park in Australia's Capital for Motorcycle Racing, you would be tollerant of those that come for the 2 weekends a year, for the Racing...

I know the maintanence guy likes us. Mario borrowed one of his old drill bits cause the front wheel of the trailor broke off. Well Mario went the hack, and the guy didn't care, but he got a brand new "sharp" drill bit from the local hardware, about 2 hours later. So other than the 1 incident, with a neighbouring site, which I can't understand why management would put them there, with half the park empty, but this is a general reflection of level of customer service from the parks management... They didn't even bother to put Rob's phone booking in their book, as well as hanging up on Duane, which is just pathetic customer service.

Hi Rob, sorry if my comment wasn't appropriate mate , I wasn't trying to have a go at anyone in particular. It just seemed like something had pissed this guy off and it seemed like it was our club that had done it. I was deliberately not trying to speculate on what had happened, good or bad, and was just sticking to the problem that Dave was having.

If the problem was 'cause this guy has had bad experiences with large groups of riders coming to races so he's trying to pin the same label on us then it sounds like there was no way of winning in his books

Looks like I owe a few more people some beers

When we rang the guy knew who we were and immediately went off at Jus, hence me getting the shits. He blatantly told us that we are not welcome, even just the 2 of us.
He said he let you guys book the sites because he knew us from previous GP's and we were ok.. :?
His biggest whinge apart from the noise and language was the amount of ppl on the sites and ppl not paying.

I am just the messenger...

In retrospect, its certainly not the place for a large group.

Anyway, lets put this behind us and move on..

So is it Hi-side at the track, Cowes Caravan park or somewhere else for the GP's..??

Hi-side isn't particualry family friendly. If I head to the GP this year, we'll probably be getting a house between a group of us.

I'd suggest that you guys contact one of the other caravan parks. Not sure if it would pay to ring them and give them a sob story about how the other caravan park wont book groups and that it seems a bit funny to turn away regular business because your group goes to both the GP's and the SBK's.

Oh, and I'd also suggest that the bloke at the caravan park is a tool.

The only thing with Highside is the showers/toilets... timing is everything for cleanliness. There are lots of family groups there every year.

Trackside is the "dick heads campground".

I have my receipt from the caravan park, I also had T and the kids with us... I certainly didn't find it offensive. This is the first I heard about any complaints, even the one mentioned on the Sat. I personally was proud of the group for it's beheaviour, the swearing toned down after the Thurs night. The owner obviously wants no groups, that's his call and excuses will be all you get. Easier to blame than explain.

I'm happy to go anywhere but time is short so someone should start looking. Numbers of attendees should be polled now so when booking the full quota can be catered for.

Wasn't me, I promise

Dave, Cath and I have decided not to be soft, so, if you are still willing to have a group from KSRC staying together then we'd love a camp site. Obviously we'd understand if you want to forget about the whole group thing - if so we'll book a spot somewhere on our own

Let us know what you would prefer.

To Tape and T, thanks for the offer - I think we might end up bringing the bikes down on a trailer and camping in the troopy, but if we decide to ride we might hit you up for some Taj space.

Nah, I'm over it, still pissed of, but over it...:-)

I'd say we go for the Cowes Caravan Park which is just behind Beach Park..
I don't think it would be wise to mention the last problem (or lack there of) as all the caravan park peeps know each other...

I'll check availability, there groups policy, and start a new post to get numbers....

There's also a Van park behind Islander and Boomarang.
I may need to take another ride down there before the GP to check it out .

My two bobs worth........

Considering that this is the best group of people i have ever met..... our behaviour was not anything to look at.

Jessica, Brandon and I were there friday afternoon and KSRCians were pretty tame when i got to the track. We organised dinner (bbq) gawd we even chatted to the other residents that were eating/cooking in the bbq area.
Dan, Ron and I even cleaned up their shyte.....
Sat night we did the same thing.

I met the people across the road from where we were they were lovely, they even lent my kids a lamp when it got dark so they could see cause i left mine at home.

We were basically too sunburnt, too much alcohol andtoo blardy tired, we were in bed by 11.30 at the lastest.

Those of us that went into town ( which was around 8.30 either didn't come back to the park or returned in the morning). There were no extra body's at the site's and all that was there including my kids and photomikes boy's were very tame cause there was alot of kids around.

I'm very proud to be a KSRCian. I WILL not have anyone tell me that our behavour was shocking because it wasn't...

I have said enough, the kids ( and Mick, are telling me they want dinner)...

personally, i wouldn't go back now after that. stuff them
:x
