zx10r's are surprisingly comfy, as long as your doing 100kph + then the wind blast takes the weight off your wrists.

i went to france last year, we did a 1000km ride from docking at le havre to the pyrennees mountains where our accomadation was, i was riding a bmw 1150 gs adventure and i think i had more butt ache than a mate on a zx10r!

i can also say having owned 2 zx9r's & a zzr1100, they have great riding positions and comfy seats :)

f model zx9.
Bs are too heavy for ur style of riding.
i only say f cos they're the last of the best. but from c upwards, ur gonna have the bike that suits what u want.
and they still look horny too.

i havent sat on a 12 but just looking at them they remind me of my old 1990 GSXR750, which is why i got away from hardcore seating positions!

the 9 has the best position ive ever felt, in terms of comfort yet you can still throw her around on the track...

if i was to do extra extra long journeys i might put a sheep skin seat cover on, or get a extra padded corbin seat tho

IMO the C series 9R's are comfier than the F series, the clipons are in a better position on the C series (above the top clamp) rather than the F series having them under the top clamp .... they also break a lot easier on the F series

No-one ever believes me when I say the 10 is a comfy bike, but I've ridden it to PI and back and had no problems. I reckon it's comfier than my old 9 to be honest.

Yeah 10r's are surprisingly comfy, I did 2500 k's in 4 days on mine between Christmas and New yaers and I wasnt in that bad shape at the end of it, not much worse off than when I was on my VFR.

The seat is comfy in all the right places, that said they are a bit cramped for touring.

I would dare say a 9R would be even better

No disrespect to any of you 9R owners, but 5badair.gif

I am still wanting to have a good looking bike! It's really not something I want to do, trading the 636, but being a dinosaur is a literal pain after every ride  So am going to have to either stop doing rides over 400klms long ( I can manage that OK, it's after about the 450 mark it starts to hurt.) or get a more comfy bike........

So if anyone has owned or ridden for an extended period (at least a day in the saddle) let me know yr thoughts.

1. Z1000/Z750 (I like the look, but am worried about no wind protection)

2. ZRX1200 (Hate the look, but heard some good stories, worried about the excessive weight)

3. FZ1

4. Bandit 12

5. Brutale 750

6. KTM Duke

7.KTM adventure or whatever it is called

8. BMW GS

9. Ducati 1000 paul smart or the yellow unfaired one (can't expect any ride reports i know, but has anyone sat on one and how comfy are they)

10. Any other suggestions you may have in similiar categories, or one hell of a comfy sports bike. :D

Oh how times and opinions change, do we remember this statement when a certain person bought his 6R

"ERGOS
Man whoever that 5'8" guy was that couldn't see the clocks, get that pole out. I am 5'11" and in the normal ride position all the instrument are clearly visible. Once again no complaints. Shift light (set at 14,000 while i run it in) works a treat. While a long ride is needed the ride position was just as comfy as my old 95 CBR6 (good riddance).

Yep, that was written Before i compressed a disc in my lower spine! :x But hey look i may still keep the 636 for Reefton duties and just trade in the KLX or sell it and sell one of my racers and tip in some cash. I still have my racer for nutter duties. But i am getting too crippled up to be on my 636 for loads of klms now. Even at work now I limp by about 2.30 in the afternoon! My CBR 600 wouldn't be any better, hence the reason I am looking at all these OFB's!

While my bike was serviced few months ago I got a Z750 as a loan and all I could think of.. WTF ? Got back to the proper sportsbike a.k.a J1 and it was the most comfortable and right geometry. Of course anyone wants to trade his 05 636 with the J1, I'm up for it
