As silly as it sounds! You could call one of the engineers at the transport department up there when you arrive. They will have all the latest data on "new roads" and will probably be intrigued, "relieved" to have such a novel request made of their time. There has been a lot of heavy rain in QLD lately. READ... *road-works* and these guys/gals will know these hotspots too!
