you sorta touched on the problem there

what Mick does not mention
nor the the farkers stealing our money is.....
the majority of deaths/accidents (Vic Police/Vicroads stats)
are from unriders....
yep those with no licence or no training
and who also have a habit of not wearing a helmet

For thos interested in the unrider component, they were 38% if hospitilisations last year. All paid by the TAC just the same as me and any other Victorian driver/rider that has a stack...

No tax for these guys as they dn't pay rego, do however claim all the benefits thereof...

Think you'll find the cameras are in place actually Mr Smith, just not taking pics as yet.

at the end of the day if most riders were doing the right thing and riding to the conditions, the accidents wouldn't occur.

And this sums it up entirely.

One of my favourite roads, from The Gap through Mt. Nebo & Mt. Glorious to Somerset, is well known as a 'danger' road. Sure, there's a bit of debris here and there (uh.. it's a forest. There are going to be leaves & sticks falling from trees), but the speed limits are quite accurate (low in a couple of places) for safe motoring.

Unfortunately then some turkey does 170 in an 80 zone, wipes himself out, and they want to reduce the speed limit further. What they don't understand is that this won't achieve anything except frustrating the riders who ARE doing the right thing - perhaps to a oint where they also disregard the speed limit "Oh well I'm fucked anyway, I may as well go for it"

These taxes aren't such a bad a idea but they need to subsidise track days, B&C courses, and the like, to get the demons off the road (and many of us are demons, even if only for a sequence of half a dozen corners before settling down again).

thanks Mick
wasn't sure if they had finished wacking them all up
I knew they were about to/were installing them

and tolls have always been part of the Shittylink franchise
they just never have been able to charge them

the question now is.... are they gunna use an etag or photo to
charge you for the privilege ??

cheers

Maybe someone should suggest that to their local MP. The government will surely think it's a great idea, try and introduce it and then cop a heap of protests from 4wd owners.

Then, the Victorian motorcycle community can turn out to the protests with "What about us??" placards!

When tolls come in for bikes (I personally believe it's a when rather than an if) it will be a photo job, question then is will we get slugged for the extra processing charge that a car gets, if that happens resy assured, there will be plenty of shit hitting the fan!!

NSWMCC actually employed the e-tag company to make an e-tag suitable for all bikes, made one to suit a scooter then they brought in a cruiser, made one for cruiser they brought in a tourer, amde one for tourer they brought in a sports bike etc etc...

One tag fits all was unable to be achieved, same will happen with FNP's I reckon.

Steve, there "used" to be a levy on 4Wd's. of course as there are now so many as suggested by you, the voter backlash and the RACV made them withdraw it quick smart, now you actually get a discount to own said vehicles.

correctamundo

not many people realize that!
the import duty/tariff on ALL 4WDs is less than cars
so these environmental/traffic disasters are attractive $ wise

me thinks we need to take over the RACV
or the Farmers Federation...sumfink like dat
Prufrocks arise!
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!
