Problem is if they defect you im pretty sure that u will have to find an alternative transport to get to the track ,as u will only be able to take it to a repair centre or home.If they catch u riding a defected bike then im sure a fine will follow and these days possible impound if u come accross the wrong prick.

What are you talking about?
All we ever hear on the news around here is of people being mugged and beaten to death by fenders!
Maybe if there was money in offenders, they wouldn't be picking on us ;)

They will end up making the trip to the supers/GP/Island classic a non event for people on bikes, they just wont go  . I know the figure being bandied about for the Island Classic was around $6M for the Bass Coast Shire in generated income....people dont go, no income.

Should of asked him to stand next to your "illegal fender" while you take a picture of it with your phone. Then ask for his name and badge number and tell him you'll be going to see his boss.

was thinking the same thing, at the least it would be a good photo for vic roads or where ever you take it, just so they know you never changed it back.

last cop that pulled me over said most of the crashes are in the late morning to mid afternoon, which is when the group rides that leave Melb at 10am get there. think they set up to catch them so if you must ride there on weekends go early. I usually stop for petrol in Healesville and if there are a lot of bikes going through I go somewhere else.

That's farked born green . U need to move to Albury your flat to c anyone roads are deserted .moto gp and supers are the only time cops are out. That's when the zx14 gets locked in the shed it's a shame they are wrecking it for everyone having a bit of fun.

Last year when they setup just over the bridge from San Remo they didn't seem to want to pick on fender eliminators for interstate bikes. When Mel and I got pulled up they just took rego and licence details then let us go, but every Vic bike was getting a good going over and I heard they were doing them for fender eliminators along with anything else they could find.

So I'm hoping this year will be like last year in that they weren't there on Thursday when we came in or the Monday morning when we left, and as long as you stay on the island you won't go through the roadblock.

yer, i would go with that.BUT dont quote me.....
Not worth the effect for them, no money in defects, so no comeback on interstate bikes...
And while there busy pulling over dangerous interstate bikes, to many of the local's would be getting thru... and we need to be taught a lession   fender eliminators are dangerous

I interested in someone like dutchy's opinion, form him as a bike rider, and the other side, on the sillyness of this law... and the anal way they go about enforcing it???

That could be your problem right there. It sounds like you failed the attitude test and he got you for whatever he could pin you for, just to teach you a lesson. Even if they are being a wanker and are on a power trip, be polite and don't say anything that could aggravate them and it will save you a lot of hassle.
