Ummm, isn't there an oil tank under the pillion seat?

2 stroke oil goes under the seat, 4 stroke engine oil goes in the gearbox.

Would check with whoever you got it off what sort of 2 stroke oil they where running and whether the oil injection works though first.

Some 2 stroke oils dont mix too well in a injection system and i have read somewhere to use a good quality synthetic 2 stroke oil rather than the stuff they use in lawnmowers.

Its under the pillion seat and I always used a synthetic oil in mine. Ran heaps better. :D

it used to be a race bike...

any chance they did away with the oil tank and just mixed it in the tank?

Could be .
Oil injection was to save the hassel of mixing in a drum before riding . It 's so you could just stop at servos like the rest of the crowd .
If you went Racing people would mix to get a better ratio to suit the oil they ran .

pre mixed fuel ratio's approx 25-1 to 40-1 depending on what ur doin...
basically the lower the oil, the bigger the bang (more power) but the more often u rebuild ur motor...

umm sounds like ur gunna b mixing ur own oil too...

also good 2 stroke oil is available from bike shops (wqho will advise of best ratio etc) whereas other cheap shit u can get newhere ...the cheap shit will get u out of a bind..but id use the good shit..

If you're premixing, 40-1 is fine in fact you're engine will probably do better than 25-1, which is way too oily for most modern 2 strokes other than your lawnmower. Make sure the jetting hasn't been frigged with too much though. MX race bikes run as high as 60-1 but they do rebuilds regularly.

Whatever you do though, use a real good quality synthetic 2 stroke (highly reccomend Motul) and keep your fuel fresh.
