QLD, cops and squids!

Sat Nov 26, 2005 9:44 pm

Since i know some of you don't get onto here and OCAU here is somthing for ya that I posted there too!

well, QLD cops don't like ACT plates apparently, I went for a very sedate ride this evening with my wife pillioning, and we got pulled over twice about my number plate!

To their credit they let me be on my way once they had determined that I was from ACT and had it registered there...... strangely, neither time did they comment on the LED / Fender eliminator, that is what I thought was about to come my way......so it appears the blitz is still on!

For those that don't know, in the ACT you can have your plate re-made in plastic and a colour of your choice (as long as it is a colour they offer ) which is apparently a no-no in QLD.

Oh and QLD is sQuidsLanD ! I can't believe the sheer amount of ppl riding around in nil protective gear but a helmet.....no gloves.....boots......pants.....jacket.....at all! Just a t-shirt or singlet, shorts or trackies and some runners!

Oh well cracks me up! Although I'd kill to be as comfortable as them, I'd rather sweat my ass off in cow hide! so as to save my delicate skin if it comes into contact with its nemesis.....the bitumen!!!

Well you are on holidays there and so are half the riders your seeing probably.

The blitz well hey imagine if you where exposed to that 14 hours a day at work then copped it on your days off as well and have to deal with pinheads that are trying to earn their first stripe.

Enough of the rant enjoy your holidays. :D

not so much as a rant, more of an observation. And i'd say most of the ppl i am coming across sans gear are locals as most of them are just going about their own business and not just chilling out down in surfers on a scooter! ;)nough of that, a riding i a go, a riding i a go!

cya!

Sounds like you are having fun up there mate ........... don't worry about the yokels, every time I have been to Sufferers, its the same thing - riding around in shorts/thongs/singlet etc, I do agree with Beryl, it can be very hot'n'humid........ but the bitumen still hurts when you hit it :?

I don't think it was the blitz you were *copping* (groan) , it was just the fact that your plates are red, and say ACT !!! that's enough for a roadcheck...

Keep up the good work, I always enjoy my stays up there......

:D
