Lucky Sunday riders

Sun Jul 31, 2005 1:16 pm

To all the lucky bastards who were able to go riding today. The weather in Sydney is feeling very much like spring and i'm stuck at work in a dim room looking at a bloody radar screen. But the upside is i've got next Sunday off and i'm planning on meeting up with for the nasho run. Is it 8:30 at Audley?

yep was beautiful... bit of rain leaving cobden but north a bit and the sun came out and it was nice and warm, perfect for the long ride home along some very nice roads ( perfect for some speed tests of the new bike ;) )

Twas a lovely day for a ride...

I was even able to borrow a mates bike (we wont go into what said bike was... ) and go for a quick blat around the area...

Can't wait to get my own... 8)

I couldn't go riding yesterday either and I was so envious of all the riders I saw on the way to Eastern Creek.

If I couldn't ride, I wasn't going to miss out on track day and I got to meet Mr and Mrs Madkaw and Madfab so I had a top day anyway.

See you folk out on the road next weekend!!

Cheers,

When it comes down to it, a bike is a bike & that's all that matters ;-).

I hired this suzuki 800cc cruiser thing up in Cairns a couple of weeks ago. i was well out my comfort zone. I'm used to the sharp steering and buckets of power out of my turbo ZXR and then i had this thing. I had trucks passing me and u-turns with a raked front end and two up...... interesting. I don't think i'll do it again.

I missed out on the chance to go for a ride too... gf got back from overseas in the morning... by the time we got organised to it was already after 3pm so we gave it a miss.

Good news is that I'm off work with a sore throat today, I often find the best medicine is a bit of a ride...

they're a weird thing those cruisers, I'm still two minds about one (as a 3rd or 4th bike that is, after I've won the lottery or something).

I had to take a work colleagues honda 800 cruiser down for a service while he was overseas, jumped on it in the carpark though where the hell does the key go ? found that and started it up, then where the hell are the pegs, (looks down) ohh up there huh, ok, into first and away we go, up the drive, stop at the road nothing coming here we go, shit where are the pegs (looks down) ohh up there, wobble round onto the road and away we go. Cruise off down the road, after I'd got used to the reclined seating position I'm thinking, hey this is quite cool high wide bars, feet forward, etc. then ok heres the street, tip it into the corner a the thing felt like it wanted to fall on its side, scared the life out of me !

Maybe a buell instead ?
