In the closet.. do i wanna go naked..?

Postby ohno102go » Thu Feb 23, 2006 4:03 pm

Ok Forumites... i'm "between licences" at the moment and soon expect to have the capacity to legally engage in a meaningful relationship with new motorcycle..

The question is which one...

I have had a 12 month relationship with a 10R which was pretty full on and erratic, i also cheated with a 12R for a good 6 months. While i loved the big girl for her power and ability to go all night, the 10R was the one i loved... theres something about a nasty girl that turns me on... but somethings not right...

i think i want to go naked.. i'm confused.... what the difference in seat height, ride position and power output???

IMHO...

I sat on Wattie's Z1000 the other day and without having ridden one, i'm leaning more towards the 10R as a future upgrade to my 636...

I have just recently come out of the naked closet. And am loving it! Mind it would have been nicer on a Z1000. They do look horn! :D

Have a long ride on one and see what you think.

I reckon it depends on where most of your riding is.

If its mainly around town then naked is awesome.

If not then go a fairing. The wind will do your head in after a while.

My next bike will definately have a fairing.

i've only ridden 2 bikes with fairings, a Hardly electra-glide, and a buell XB9R, and the buell was a testride.. and its not even a fairing, only like a screen...
so i've always ridden "el naturale" its second nature...
mind you i can never hear ppl talking to me when i stop riding...
go nekid!!
and no they are not slow... unless you like doing anymore than 220kays everywhere...

check out aus street fighter for ideas
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

mate if a ZX10R makes it to the wreckers its already too far gone to go back on the road! :P

Head to fowles and pick one up for $5000ish with minor damage.

Yeah i was blissfully unaware how good a screen was till i swapped bikes with my bro (a ZX9) on a highway trip.

I would love to have 2 bikes for seperate purposes eg a ZX9 (or something similar) for trips and the Z for roaring round town.

The screen on the Z750 i reckon is actually not too bad (not as bad as youd think anyway) and "they" reckon the Z1000 is even better.

I reckon a Z1000 looks pretty damn sexy though so thats gotta make up for most of the wind :)

Anyway thats my 2c worth.

The lack of wind protection on the nakeds was the real sticking point with me getting one too. However the gen Honda screen I fitted to the Hornet, provides as much wind proctection as my ZX636 did in normal riding. The only time the 6 was better, was all those occassions when I wanted to do more than 200kph!

I havn't really evaluated the Z's screens so cannot comment, but if they work as well as the Hornets then it should be fine. :D
