Swing Arm....To Paint or Powder Coat?

Postby tape » Fri Feb 17, 2006 6:47 pm

WHat do you reckon, paint the swing arm or powder coat it.? Black was my first choice in color for the swing arm for the ZXR 750.

I can get access to a sand blaster and paint booth for nix. So I'll be doing most of it myself unless I fark up the first try...lol

I also do not want to polish the bastard.

Can someone point me to the threads on painting hints plz...

cheers

It would be better to glass bead the rims and if you decide to paint you can have the colour made up to what ever you like, if you powder coat you are stuck with the std colours that are avalible, we have about 40 or so colours at work.

Alloy swing arm, I personally would rather paint it, cos I spose it'd be cheaper but that isn't a major concern.

And Black is the color I want for it.

The rest of the bike will be Green and black majorly...

Cheers

Powdercoat wil last longer and has a better finish but paint is easier, cheaper and can be touched up and repainted..

Go with paint me thinks....
