Depends on you're knowledge level.
If you don't know that much about modifying bikes, then you're better off going for a clean stock bike. You can easily end up with somebody else's poorly/incompletely done modifcations.
I went to look at a bike recently, which had a bigbore kit etc etc etc, engine started/ran well, other mods were ok. Took one look at the front of the engine and basically walked away from it.
The guys had 1133 cc'd a GSX1100ET motor, with upgraded valves, cams, welded crank, beefed up clutch, engine looked immaculate. But they forget to install an oil cooler, and these motors glaze their bores and destroy their alternators, if the oil gets too hot. Took the motor out to redline and puffs of smoke(rebuild). Guarantee that if you ran a multimetre over the alternator outputs that they would have been spiking constantly.
