Hmm fair enough I am surprised that its that difficult though. I know vicroads has streamlined a lot of that know because its so common these days.

It's a ripper price it won't last 5 minutes once the weather starts to cool down.

Yeah but if its not currently rego'd the nsw rta has a fit.

Then you have to put all the ADR gear back on inc chain guards, prove it is a stock pipe. Then go to the rta and if like last time the say "we don't feel comfortable that it has passed and wish to do more testing" and at the end of it all you go ..... Fark it wasn't that cheap after all.

On another note I would like a 450 as then I can motard it also

ludite. ;) licorice all sorts this world. I guess i am outta the cool club right

I wouldn't say they are revolutionary nor I am against them directly in fact i have often thought of putting a CR5 engine into one.

Unfortunately they (the irresponsible ones) have trashed/swept tracks in SA and are responsible for a few places being fenced off by either landowners or gov because of excessive erosion especially on coastal lands. yes bikes can trash tracks too but no where as quick and generally dont use one place excessively, gotta love single track ;)

Unlike the eastern states South Australia has very few public/legal places to ride so having another pissed off landowner or council fencing off a well liked and often fairly secret area is quite disappointing and frustrating knowing the owner will never accept bikes again.
Finding property owners to allow riding is hard work even as a Club and often has to be sanctioned with MA for insurance, just about all except 2 places wont allow quads on their land with the exception of little kids ones for family's.

z1gg33 wrote:Sorry Jonno, I'll have to disagree with you there. I have taken this to what would be classified as rec reg only places.... the amount of damage done by the two wheelers was bad massive ruts. in fact my pic above does not show it, but that is a *cough cough* secret location. which I had not been to in a few years. It was well rutted/whooped out by two wheelers, made most of the tracks uncomfortable to ride. Not even sure how enjoyable it would have been for the two wheelers out there. saw a few lads struggling.

We sat down and tried to figure out why its was so whooped out..

I think its being fenced off regardless of the type of bike Jonno, I have seen far more irresponsible two wheel riders than trike/quad, I share your frustration, not many places to ride legally and even less so for me on it.

How about a CR500 in one then

edit: i guess if you insist on two wheel only posts... have not ridden this in a while

i guess I should have initially said irresponsible riders screwing it up for all of us, depends on which side of the fence you see it from

Love that quad btw, and the 500AF, frame? CRF, CR? Service Honda job?

I have a steelie CR500 and a gen4 CRF250 roller ready to start on the framework soon. ;)

I am always dreaming of other things to fit the CR motor into

Not quite, its a 1995 one....still pretty much the same bike though. Its a friggen skyscraper bike for a midget like me lol. I was thinking of swapping it for a DRZ125 which would be more comfortable for a total dirt noob like me :(....................

Great seeing ya yesterday Rob, always good to put a face to the name......

Your right, I love the smell of a 2 stroke exhaust in the morning lol............if only they were more bullet/idiot proof like modern 4 strokes.

I wouldn't have used the word bulletproof mate and the DRZ is far from modern

Hey I dont mind you all getting modern 4T bikes, but do me a favour and get current model CRF "X" bikes as i want the ADR frames when the motors go bang ;)
