Given the amount of people making the move to dirt bikes I thought it was about time I did too especially seeing that Nelso is keen to get back on the dirt. I've always been keen but never knew anyone that rode dirt. I thought it would be wise, seeing I'm no spring chicken anymore, to do a course and learn all about it and there's a Dirt Bike School not far from us run by Dale Corser.

The day has a max of 6 people and there is a discount for a group booking. Bikes are supplied. If there is enough interest I will enquire about a group discount and arrange a day that suits everyone.

Bikes are supplied and it's run down near Wollongong not far from Macquarie Pass.

The website with details of the course is below.

Anyone interested?

Interested, but probably won't be ready in time for you guys. Got a few other priorities right now, so will probably just do the Stay Upright dirt school up our way when I'm ready.

You'll have to do a report on how it went though - I'd be really interested to hear :)
Is Nelso doing it with you? I followed your link, and those bikes look a little small for Dave or Nelso...

I'd be interested. Not sure how much riding a ttr125 will relate to a yz450 tho. I'll check with a mate too. He might wanna tag along...

Your thinking of the intermediate. Course? I think we've all go clutch control covered

Oh and I bags not pulling the ttr out nelso's backside when we're done

Ah screw it. I would love to do this with mates instead of on my own - many more laughs I reckon.

Let me know what dates you're thinking of and I'll do my best to make it :)

Awesome, Cath and Firey, that's what I was thinking with doing it with a group. Also, seeing it's on Macquarie Pass and Jamberoo's door step I thought maybe a quick run could also be involved in the day if time permits. :D :D :D

Cath, seeing you're so far away, if you and Dave want to come the day before there's a spare bed at our place.

Ok, well I think we should have enough people to get a discount. I will get in touch with them next week after the New Year settles down and people get back to opening their businesses.

January is pretty much out for me and Nelso, so I was thinking maybe a date in February (not the weekend of the 4th) or even March, so that people had time to organise etc, but I'm open to suggestions.

If you could throw me a couple of choices I can see if they're available when I talk to Corser Concepts.

Maybe a dirt bike for an upcoming birthday could be on the cards. ;)

Thanks for the offer of a bed! Will talk when it's closer...

Feb or March is much *much* better for me. I was figuring you'd be planning on mid Jan, and I didn't want to be the one holding things up, so figured I'd end up doing it on my own in March or something.

Now... gotta think about buying some gear and start thinking about what dirt bike to get :) Don't think The Lad and I will be able to share his one for long. We shared our first learner 250 for about 2 weeks, before realising we don't share well ;)

Ha Ha, well Nelso and I won't be sharing cause he will be on a much bigger dirt bike than me.

I'm thinking a 250 for me will be just fine if I can get a handle on the whole dirt thing. I won't be looking at going fast on the dirt though as it hurts lots more when you crash on dirt especially when you get older. Nelso and I turn ## this year, so it seems the older you get the faster you were and also the more you don't bounce when you throw yourself on the ground.

I'm just hoping to have a bit of fun and also hope that it will improve my track riding. Also looking forward to doing a bit of camping/trail bike riding with friends.

This would be good tryout before commiting to a dirty :D

First 2 weekends in Feb we will be painting and repairing to get into our new shithole  and 3 March is Billy's Bday. Other than that if thats ok?

Yeh, good way to see if you like it before buying. Also good way to learn the basics.

It's looking like March might be the go then, as the Supers are on in the last week of Feb which pretty much cancels out Feb and I'm not going to do the dirt school the week before the Supers cause Murphy's Law says that I'll crash and hurt myself and not be able to ride to the Supers.

Might look at the weekends of the 10th or 17th March then.
