Awsome place I'm sure you will all have a great time..
Haven't been in a while though..
I've stayed in most of the accomodation that Tom has to offer on the property.
All are good just depends on the numbers you have going....
Great little pub 5mins down the road too...remember I did say little...

Enjoy...Look forward to your thoughts on your return... :kuda:

So did this Louee trip happen...?

yep certainly did. :D

Had an awesome weekend.

I managed to swing Friday off also I went up a day earlier than Wattie. Headed straight for the track as soon as I could. Being that it took so long to get there and sign up I didnt do much in the way of trails. Sticking to mainly the MX tracks around the park. Being a bit rusty on the jumping side of things I aimed at getting these out of the way first. After a bit a few of the boys and myself hit the senior enduro trails. Had a ball but found myself being lazy at times and not standing up. No dramas though as they werent that hard. The creek crossing was the biggest highlight of the day when it suddenly got a little deeper than I anticipated with the water reaching my thighs and by fark it was cold, esp since I hit it at speed the splash when all over my upper body as well. :oops: Anyways did a few more loops and called it a night. Fark was it a cold night :shock: Jim Beam assisted in that situation :D

Anyways Day 2 started with Wattie waking me up ( keen as mustard as expected). So suited up and headed down to the trails. No mucking around now but. Straight into the mountains we headed.

I thought I woud break the ice with a cold wake up call and take Wattie through the creek crossing. My biggest mistakje here is I lead and after he saw my bike go through it he took a detour and went around it. :oops: So Day 2 and i was already cold and wet :lol: and I failed to get him :oops:
The tails were marked
Blue = easy
Red = Hard
Black = expert
The moto of the weekend seemed to be Black :twisted: . Black being bloody steep hill climbs, tight twisty ascents + decents and all in all farking rocky. The type of style that chooses your direction for you :lol: :lol: . Anyways this meant alot of the day was spent standing up to cope with the rocks, meaning the thighs copped a workout, Nothing was a major issue until we reached THE HILL CLIMB. This climb was the goal of everyone that weekend.

About 200-300ms of bloody steep accent was the challenge. So steep that if you stopped or crashed or lost traction you were farked. Better off busting your arse turning the bike around manually and heading back down to start again. Wattie went first and actually made it look pretty easy as he motored up it and out of sight. I had a crack straight after opting for the same path he took (you have a choice of 3 routes) but only managed to get about 1 third of the way up before my front got caught in a rut and throwing me off the side. No matter I headed back down for take 2. Meanwhile I was miffed how Wattie made it look so easy. :oops: Sitting down the bottom the other guys inform me that he didnt make it at all, instead dropping it just past my line of sight :lol: . He did manage however to pick it up again ride across to the other route and finish the climb pretty easily. Anyways take saw me choose a different route with more success this time. Sure a couple of times i had the old panick legs out but forward momentum was maintained and up she went. Woohoo

Anyways the riding after that was awesome. Some twisty stuff through river beds, some openish fire trails with heaps off whoops just made for stand up wheelies.

Finished the day off with some friendly chase and catch games on the MX courses which always turn out to me more competitive than anticipated :oops: :lol:

day 3 saw most of the crew we went with pack up and go home rather than getting dirty all over again before driving home. Instead Wattie and I stayed to do it all again. This time we just checked out some of the trails we hadn't managed to get to yet. Remember there is about 150kms of trails alone at this place let alone the 2 MX tracks 1 enduro track and 1 supercross track.

Great weekend and would go back again in a heart beat

Great write up Russ,
Good to hear you guys had a great time...Where did you stay..?
We found the Cottage or Dungaree was the go for accom when you have the numbers and want the luxuries.
Shearers Quarters also good but a little less 5star if ya know what I mean.
If the hill climb you speak of is the one over the back of Toms hill I know the one you are talking about.
It's a mother fucker...Rewarding when/if you get to the top though.. :P
I have been told the trails are gettting a little bit rougher these days.. :(
I recall having a run in with a snake going down sawpit gully.I had visions of ficking it up out the back wheel and worried I'd be wearing the c#nt as a scarf..Shit myself don't like the fuckers
Haven't been in ages though....I'm old, slow and scared nowadays. :( :(

The Gates you didn't mention the gates..... :x

Shearers quarters is 5 star compared to the cabins out the back of Louee Pub, 4 bunks in rooms the size of a wardrobe :shock: Although in the Pubs defence it has tap beer, a good BBQ area and an open fire inside ;)

Yep was told it could have been worse. We visited the pub Sat night. They donated our fire wood for the shearers shed later that night :lol:
