Yeah Rossi was definitely pushing him wide in the first part, and it looked deliberate (though that part is just my opinion).
But Marquez was clearly in front when he left the track so it wasn't like he was skipping a corner to get ahead.
I thought it was delicious to see it happen to Rossi (even though circumstances were different this time, in that Rossi got ahead by using the inside non-track bit on Stoner, while Marquez was already in front and was just recovering from being pushed wider it was still close enough to be sweet) and had a good chuckle. I really like Rossi and was hoping this would be his come-back year, I rekcon he has had the best race-craft in the paddock but he *can* be a very aggressive rider - this time it didn't work out as he was hoping. That's racing.
And if it's quicker to go off-track than on-track, I believe that is a course lay-out issue that needs to be resolved, not penalising "you didn't stay between the lines". Sometimes they need to run off-track to avoid an incident or to avoid making a situation worse and I'd hate to see more on-track carnage solely because they're avoiding using the run-off areas.
